SENSORY PROCESSING: is the process that organizes sensation from one's own body and the environment, thus making it possible to use the body effectively within the environment.

SENSORY PROCESSING (SENSORY INTEGRATION):

is a term that refers to the way the brain receives messages from the

ADHD: Attention deficit disorder

It is a neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. It when children have troubles paying attention  or controlling impulsive behaviors and being overly active.

ADD: attention deficit disorder

It is a range of behavioral disorders. It occurs in children and in adults.

ADD had children that are easily distracted. These children have difficulties following directions, they have difficulties staying on track and forgetfulness.

They have problems staying organized.

Symptoms: it is poor concentration

AUTISM: under - responsive to the things they have difficulties with. Is a developmental disorder of variable severity. It is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behaviors. It is influenced by genetics and environmental factors.

AUTISM (ASD): 

Challenging social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, non verbal communication

The goal of sensory integration is to challenge a child in a fun, playful way so they can learn to respond appropriately and function more normally.

Self - regulation: it is about a child regulating their reactions.

Such emotions like frustration or excitement. Calming themselves down.

Being able to focus on task.

Proprioceptive: receptors are located in the joints and ligaments, for

motor control and posture.

Vestibular: receptors located in the inner ear.

Sensory processing problems are a symptom of Autism sensory issues. 

Fight or flight response

Children with sensory processing issues have atypical behaviors.

They may have tantrums and need help with self - regulation.

Additionally, these children may have developmental delays.
