We decided to write this story to help grade 2 students learn an important lesson about sharing. We know that this is something that grade 2 students may find difficult, so we hope that this story can help them to see that sharing really is caring!

One day, Eggy was at home in his kitchen playing on his iPad. He was really bored, then he had an idea. He wanted to explore the desert.

He thought it would be fun to invite his friends. He sent messages to his friends: App, C.C, Roberto, and Max. They agreed to go too.

Before they set off, they had to get ready. They put everything they needed in their bags. They all felt excited because they wanted to explore the desert.

They set off on their desert adventure. They were all happy and excited, singing songs as they walked. Then they saw the most beautiful butterfly flying in the sky.

They all went to chase it because they thought the butterfly was beautiful. They didn't catch it and they became lost. They were also hungry and thirsty. They didn’t know where they were.

They had their things in App's bag. Max had a fan, App had some food to eat, C.C had a bottle of water, and Roberto had an umbrella. They took out the things that they brought with them.

They were hot, but App wouldn’t share his fan with others; they were hungry, but Roberto wouldn’t share his food; they were thirsty, but C.C wouldn’t share her water, they wanted to block the sun, but Roberto wouldn't use his umbrella to block the sun. They wouldn't share their things because they think others will break their things.
Eggy found a cave, so they went inside to rest for a while. Eggy looked around the cave and found a strange looking teapot. It had magical-looking water inside it.

They rested in the cave for a while. and Eggy found a teacup with magical water.

As Eggy picked up the cup, a strange creature appeared. The friends were surprised to see that a genie called Ali had appeared. Ali said that they could have a wish.
