Once upon a time, there was a man
named Napoleon Bonaparte. He was
very small, ambitious, fiery, and
smart.

He was born on an island called Corsica,
with seven brothers and sisters, to a family of
nobility. Napoleon's life was full of possibility.Because he had family connections, Napoleon
had great opportunities to study and get a
good education. He also quickly made his way to
the top of the military after graduation.

Times in France were full of chaos
and trouble. Napoleon knew he
could save the country from rubble.

He did not like the idea of overthrowing the
king and queen, but he knew it must be
done for him to be supreme.

He supported the Revolution, and gave
the monarchy their retribution.

The Reign of Terror killed thousands and struck fear in peoples’ hearts.
Napoleon came along at the right time and gave the opportunity for a positive
restart.

He led the French armies to many victories and
started bringing the country to the top. Based on his
early accomplishments, it appeared like there
was going to be no stop.

Napoleon crowned himself emperor of
France in 1804. He started an empire
that no one could ignore.

He once said, “If you want a
thing done well, do it yourself.”
He wanted everyone to do what
he wanted the way he wanted it
or else.

He brought the government together and made it strong.
The people saw his positive influences and followed
him along. Education, public works, and freedom of religion were all
greatly improved because of this one man. Napoleon did
not want to stop there though; he had more to his plan.
