This book is dedicated to my little sister because of her adventurous personality.

Hilda looked out the window at all things she wanted to explore. The bright sun smiled down at her and invited her outside. She smiled back and got ready for the adventure that laid ahead.
Hilda loved going outside. She loved climbing trees, looking for bugs in the dirt, and playing with chalk on the sidewalk.

As Hilda started climbing a tree, she felt a drop of water land on her face. She looked up, frowning, at the gray cloud in the sky that stood above her. However, she chose to ignore it. She was not going to let a little bit of rain ruin her fun day.

While she was looking for bugs in the dirt, she noticed the water had turned into a muddy mix! She knew her mother would be mad at her for playing in the mud, so she decided to play on the sidewalk.

She grabbed her chalk and drew her favorite things. She drew a sunny sky, lively green grass, and colorful rainbows.

She stood up to look at her work, but the rain had washed it all away! She looked up at the sky again, and saw the gray cloud was ready to come bursting down at any moment.

And that’s exactly what happened. The rain came pouring down.

Hilda glared intensely at the cloud. The cloud innocently smiled at her, which really made Hilda mad.

Hilda asked the cloud, “What is your problem? Why are you ruining my fun day?”
