Hi Everybody!
Our book is about Hetény, a small village in the south of Slovakia. It is a lovely place inhabited by the Hungarian minority. Only 1300 people live here. It is 15 km away from the Hungarian border.
We hope you will enjoy reading it!

In the first picture you can see the Tarczy monument. Tarczy Lajos was born in Hetény in 1807. and our school is named after him.
He was a philospoher, a naturalist, a teacher and a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The second picture shows you the so called tree of birth. We carve the names of the babies who were born in Hetény on the tree´s wooden leaves. The first leaf was added to the tree in 2016. Every year a new leaf is added with the names of the babies born that year.

This is the Stork restaurant in Hetény. It is in the middle of the lake. The food here is delicious. It was recently renovated. A lot of weddings and graduations are held here.

This is Hetény´s Lilla Gallery. It used to be a restaurant but now it's just a gallery where Hetény's memories are preserved. It got its name from the love of Mihály Csokonai Vitéz, a Hungarian poet from the 18th century.
