Dedico esta historia a todos los niños de orfanato, incluyendo a mi esposa y a mi hija

Hi! My name is Peanut. I want to tell you about how I came to live with my new family.

Hola! My nombre es Peanut. Te quiero contar acerca de como vine a vivir con mi nueva familia.

Before I came to live with my new family, I was living in this building with other dogs that didn’t have an owner. Different humans would take care of us.

Antes de venir a vivir con mi nueva familia, yo vivia en un edificio con otros perros que no tenian dueño. Diferentes personas nos cuidaban.

The reason I was there is because I couldn’t live with my first owners anymore. They said that my owners did not take care of me like they should.  Dogs should not be treated badly, nor abused. No one has the right to hurt us. We have feelings too!

La razón por la cual yo estaba ahí, es porque yo no podia vivir con mis primeros dueños. Ellos dijeron que mis primeros dueños no me cuidaban como se debia. A los perros no se deben tratar mal, ni abusar de ellos. Nadie tiene el derecho de lastimarnos. Nosotros tenemos sentimientos tambien.

At this place, they made sure I was safe, and that I had plenty of food and water, and a warm bed.

En este lugar, ellos aseguraron que yo estaba seguro, y que tenia suficiente comida y agua, y una cama caliente.

They also made sure I was healthy by taking me to the pet doctor.  I think they call it a veterinarian.

Tambien, ellos me llevaron al doctor de mascotas para asegurarse de que yo estaba en buena salud. Creo que a este doctor le llaman "Veterinario"

The pet doctor checked my teeth, my eyes and my heart.  He gave me a shot to make sure I stayed healthy.

He told my caregiver: 

“He is healthy and ready for a new home”

El doctor de mascotas revisó mis dientes, mis ojos y mi corazón. El me vacunó para asegurarse que me mantuviera con salud.

El le dijo a la que me cuidaba: "El está saludable y listo para su nuevo hogar.

One day, they took several of us to the front of a popular store.

Un dia, nos llevaron al frent de un negocio popular

They said: “Maybe you will meet your new family here”

We were so happy, we started to wiggle our tails really fast.

Ellos dijeron: "Tal vez van a conocer su nueva familia aquí"

Estabamos tan contentos, que comenzamos a mover nuestro rabito bien rápido.

As people were coming into the store, they would stop and pet us and say how cute we were.

A medida que la gente entraba a la tienda, se detenían y nos acariciaban y decían lo lindos que éramos.

On that day, a dad, mom and young girl came to the store. 

They looked at us but went inside.
