"Hi mom! Hi dad!" I said when I came home. Tomorrow, we have a field trip. Oh, cool mom said, where are you going? We are going to a volcano, I said happily. WHAT, said mom. You will need a lot of things, take food, water, snacks- She will be all right said dad. Ok said mom, stay safe. I got this all under control, I already packed all my stuff, I said. Ok Charlotte. Are your friends coming asked dad. Yes, I said. I have two best friends, Amber and Hazel. Ok said mom. Have fun.

Chapter 1

Can I go over to the park, my friends are going to be over there. Sure, said mom. I went to the park with dad. Me, Amber, and Hazel talked. I can't believe that we are going to a volcano. This might be our next adventure. Who knows what amazing things can happen. Maybe we need to ask the adventure club for materials, Amber said. Yeah, said Hazel. They will give us the right materials. Ok, I said. We joined a tiny club that gives us the right material for the adventure we are going to. We can just maybe call them and in the morning, we'll pick it up and put it in our backpacks.

The next morning, I took the supplies and stuffed it in my bag. I was so excited. I took all I needed and went to school. Good morning class, today we are going to go to the volcano, said my teacher Mrs. Selena. Form the line. We then formed a single file line and went to our bus and got in. When we got in, we hurried to a two seat. Me and Amber sat in it and there was only one seat left, it was by the mean kid, Kelly. I can sit there if you want, Amber suggested. Hazel lifted her head side by side. No, it's fine said Hazel. She went and sat over there. It took a long time to get there but we did get there.

This volcano is going to erupt is four days, said Mrs. Selena.

Cool, I thought. The first stage of how a volcano erupts, started Mrs. Selena. Begins with some sort of blockage in the vent of the volcano. The vent let's magma and gases to release without it erupting. According to Milton Kazmeyer, the vent can become blocked of either internal or external reasons. The second stage-- Wait I thought, what was that. Some type of big bird just flew over me. Whoosh. It happened again. Hey Amber and Hazel, some type of big bird keeps flying over me. It went that way. Let's follow it, said Hazel, and off we went.

                               Chapter 2

We ran and ran till that thing stopped. We hid behind a bush and stared at it. I-is that what I think it is, said Amber. Yup, I said. Hazel nodded. It was a dragon! This is so cool said Amber. Shh, said Hazel. That's a female. It's about to take its babies out. This is even cooler, said Amber. Uh guys, I said. I think we are lost. Oh no, said Hazel. The volcano is about to erupt in 4 days! Let's try asking the dragon for help, said Amber. I mean she flew over us and maybe saw us. Are you crazy, I said. She might eat us. Nope, she isn't, said Hazel. What do you mean, I asked.

Look said Hazel. She's eating berries. One point for me, said Amber. Shh, Hazel said. You forgot one thing. What is it I asked eagerly. She's a fire dragon, Hazel said. Who knows what she can do. You were not all right Amber I said. Doesn't matter, we have no choice, Hazel said. First of all, can dragons even talk, I asked. There's only one way to find out, I said. Amber asks the dragon for help, I said. Why me, asked Amber. Because you came up with the idea, said Hazel. Ok, here goes nothing, said Amber. Excuse me, said Amber. What are you doing here, she roared. Stay Away. I am lost, she said turning back and shooting a mean look at us. Do you know the way back to the city? Well, there's only one way how to get there, she said. You need to partner up with a dragon and go with two other people who also partnered up with a dragon.

I don't think you can go through because you don't have any friends who are also lost. Who said I don't she said looking back. I sighed and me and Hazel came and stood by Hazel. This is Hazel and this is Charlotte. I'm Amber. Nice to meet you. I'm Belinda. She looked at them. The dragons are supposed to be young. Do you have any baby dragons who can help. We don't I said. We'll go we'll go, said a small voice what was that I asked. My babies want to go with you she said. Can they go, Hazel asked. Will you keep them safe, Belinda asked. Yeah, Amber said. Ok then, be safe she said. This one is Flare, Spark, and Warmth. Choose one each and at sunset I'll see you. 

I'm Flare, said a light blue one. I'm Spark, said a dark blue one. And I'm Warmth, said a purple one. Should we choose one of you or should you choose one of us. I thought for a moment. Maybe we should go to the dragon we like, and the dragon will go to the owner she like's. Then we'll see if the dragon went to the same owner that went to the dragon. Me and Spark went to each other, Amber and Flare went to each other, and Hazel and Warmth. Mom always says the path is super dangerous, said Flare. Hmm, we have to be smart, said Hazel. We saw a shadow. She's coming, said Warmth. Ok, lets wait, I said. Have you decided yet, said Belinda. Yeah, we all said. Ok, I'll show you the way, she said.

Belinda led us to this door. Um, I said. It looks like this door leads to nothing but it's actually a portal, said Belinda. Ok, but I think we should go prepared, I said. What if it takes days. Yeah, Belinda agreed. Did I tell you it takes about 9 days. But in the 10th day the volcano is going to erupt, Hazel pointed out. We have do be quick and smart. I think I'll starve to death, Amber said. Get food and water. We will be staying there. Hazel agreed. Ok, we can find berries and fruits here, Belinda said. Ok, I said. Me and Spark will find water while you guys find fruits. Everyone agreed. I'll get you supplies, Belinda said. Ok let's go, Warmth said. 

Hazel and Amber went to get the food. There's a lot, Amber said. Yes, Flare said and thy are so delicious Warmth said while biting into one. Ok, I have lots of containers in my backpack that we can use for berries, Hazel said. We can use these baskets for the fruits, Flare said. Ok lets do this, Amber said and they got started. Meanwhile, me and Spark were making wooden cups. Ok this should be enough, I said. How will we store the water?, Spark asked. Maybe we can make containers, I said. Ok, and then we got to work.

After we got everything, we went back. Here is the supplies I got said Belinda. Good luck. We went through the portal and it brought us to this weird place. Wow, I said. This place is amazing. Yeah, Amber said walking forward. Careful it might be- Hazel didn't get the chance to answer. Woah, Amber said. Earthquake! Quick, ride on us, Flare said. We jumped on our dragons and they flew through. After we were safe Hazel said, careful, this place has traps. We better be careful.

                                Chapter 3

Ok, we said. That was a close one, Spark said. But it was fun riding on a dragon, Amber said smiling at the thought. I frowned. Not that it's important of course, Amber quickly added. Ok, lets go. The sooner we pass the obstacles the sooner we get back HOME, I thought. Now what's next, I asked. I don't know, I said. Then suddenly a huge wall with rocks on it just appeared! That must be the next obstacle, Warmth said. And I'm great at rock climbing, Hazel said. Me too, Warmth said. Then some rocks on the rock wall started falling. Follow our lead, Hazel said. We know the quickest path. We put on some rock climbing gear Belinda gave us and followed Hazel and Warmth's lead.

Next obstacle we are ready, Amber shouted. I don't think we are, I said panting. This is supposed to be a long journey, we can't rest now, Hazel said. Yeah, said Warmth. Do you want to go home or not?  Ok, I said. Let's go what's next. I have no idea, Flare said. Then lava just arose. And some of the rocks were higher so we could jump on them. This must be the next obstacle, I said. and it's a hard one, said Hazel. Not for me, Amber and Flare said at the same time. I have been doing this since I was three, Amber said. And I practice this all the time, Flare said. I'll show you a quick path to go in. Ok let's do it before the lava rises, Warmth said. Ok let's do it Spark said.

It was really hard though. When we try to jump on a rock, sometimes the lava covers it. Can't we just fly over? I asked. No, said Spark. For some reason we can't fly, our wings won't carry us. Well hopefully your wings won't be disabled after we finish and go home, Amber said. I think they become stronger then any other baby dragon in the world, said Flare dreamily. Only if we even make it out of here, this place is creepy said Amber. Dangerous, corrected Hazel. That's what I meant, Amber said. Enough arguing and chatting, Warmth said. Let's hurry up guys. Warmth's right, I said. We have to go faster before all the rocks get covered in lava!

 This cave is playing with us so badly, Spark said when we just finished the obstacle. I think we had enough for one day, Amber said. I glanced at my watch. Oh wow, It's 12:00 pm already, I said. Time to have dinner. Yeah, but it's really dark, Hazel said. How will we know if we are about to eat a rock or a mango. Well we have a lantern and a long stick, I said. Hazel grinned. She knew exactly what I was thinking. Whoa whoa whoa, Amber said. Can you please tell me what you are thinking before you do it? Sure, Flare said. They are thinking of burying the stick and hanging the lantern on it. Whoa, do you have the power of reading minds?, I asked. I guess you can say that, Flare said.

We buried the stick and the lantern. Um, are we going to eat this plain, or are we going to cook this into something? Amber asked. Do you remember where we are? Hazel asked. We can't just cook something here and eat some fancy dish in a cave. Ok said Amber. I poured some water into three cups and nine bowls. Then I passed out  a bowl of fruits to everyone and I took a bite of a peach. The dragons were right. This is the best peach I have ever tasted. I finished up my peach, but I was still kind of hungry. So I took three slices of mango too. Of course my tummy wasn't so full, but I knew I couldn't eat too much. 

                                    Chapter 4  

Ok, I am tired. Can we sleep now? I asked. Yeah, we have sleeping bags, Hazel said. And dragon beds, said Flare.  One problem though, how are we going to be cozy? Amber pointed out. It's chilly. Did you forget we have three dragons, Spark asked. And a bundle of sticks, I added. So are we going to make a fire? Amber guessed. Exactly, Warmth and Hazel said at the same time. Time to get started, said Flare. We grabbed the bundle of sticks, and put it in the middle of the cave. On my count, 1...2...3 GO. All three dragons blew and the sticks caught on fire! 

Now it's time to sleep, Flare said. We have a long day ahead of us. Agreed, Amber said. Then let's start spreading out our sleeping bags, I said. We spread them out. It's nice and warm in here now, I said. Time to off the lantern, I said. But before I could blow it out, Hazel stopped me. I'm sorry but I can't sleep without a book, Hazel said. It became a habit. Me Flare and Spark can't sleep without a stuffy, Warmth said. Spark nodded in agreement. True, Flare said. And I also would like to read, Amber said. I sighed. We'll look in the backpack, I said anyway. And sure enough, there was 3 stuffed animals and 3 books. Let's read, Amber said. And play, Flare added. Belinda picked out really good books, I thought. Then it was time to sleep. I curled up in my sleeping bag. Goodnight! I said. But nobody could answer. They were already asleep.

Before I knew it I was sleeping happily. I was having a wonderful dream, it was about me, Amber, Hazel, and all the dragons in my pool. We were splashing in there and having so much fun, and then Splash. Wake up sleepyhead, Hazel said. I was in a cave. Then I remembered everything that happened. You were sleeping forever. It's 9:00 already. We packed up everything and we set up breakfast. I sat up feeling all wet. I looked at myself, I was soaked. Why am I so wet, I asked.  Um, cause we might have poured water on you to wake you up, Spark said. Well, we found a little closet for you to change in, Flare said. They  opened a stone door, and inside was a little room. Hazel handed me a pair of clothes. Here, change into these and come have breakfast.

I went in to the closet and changed. Trust me Belinda picks out the Best things. The dresses were so comfy. I changed and went back to the cave. The table was set. I took a wooden bowl. I put a few strawberries in it. Then I took a banana. I washed them and ate it. It was so good. Right after we were done the next obstacle came up. Water? Hazel asked perplexed. I think we are supposed to swim across, I said to them. And I'm very good at swimming, I said. Amber had a scared look on her face. Don't worry, we have extra dresses, Hazel reassured. So, who's ready to swim, I asked. 

                    Chapter 5

Not me, Amber said. Why not Flare asked. We need air masks, Amber said. We can swim without them, I said. But can we just have them just incase, I asked. Ok, I sighed. I looked in my bag. There was air masks. We put them on and jumped into the water. Suddenly the water pushed us down and we couldn't come back up. You were right about wearing air masks, I told Amber. Yeah! said Warmth. Then a obstacle course appeared. I'm pretty good at obstacles, said Spark. Follow me. We followed Spark and she led us in the right direction. It was kind of hard though. Some reason, there was lava on the ground under water, but we eventually made it!

After we passed the obstacle course, we took turns changing in each closet. We gave the dragons a towel cause they didn't have any clothes though. I was starting to wonder, how Belinda knew exactly what to give though. After I changed a sudden thought came to my mind. Guys wait, I yelled running over to them. They turned around looking stunned. Sorry to scare you but think about this, I said. Each obstacle had 1 pair, technically me and Spark, Hazel and Warmth, and Amber ad Flare, to be good at the obstacle. They nodded and listened. But now we are done with all the pairs and no exit showed up, so be ready for anything. Ok said Hazel, Let's go.

Then the next obstacle showed up. Tennis, asked Hazel confused. I'm pretty good at Tennis. Me too, I said. But then Amber spoke up. I am horrible at tennis, she wailed. And I am too, Flare wailed with her. We'll help if you be quiet, I said. Ok, Amber said. But who are we playing against. I don't know, Hazel admitted. Then these cave monsters showed up. Oh man! Is that who were competing, Amber asked worriedly. Looks like it, Hazel asked. Then tennis bats showed up in front of us. Ok let's start, can't be too hard right? I said.
