The plates were set on the table. Mother Linda sighed and pulled a chair out.
"Mom!" Yelled Noah as he strutted into the house. She turned towards him. Noah had leaves crumpled together in a shape.
She quickly scurried him back outside. Noah hung his head and turned towards the unopened boxes at his door
.
"When we are here, you will not bring garbage into the house with a bunch of leaves pasted together."

Noah had just moved with his widowed mother after his father had passed away.
His father was an inventor- and of course, Noah's role model.
As much as they had quite similar personalities, making such crazy inventions, they looked similar too.
With just a glance towards Noah, his mom would have an instant smile. They both had shared the same light browned hair and brown eyes, like the honey she'd spread on her bread.
The move from one town to another, had caused them to find a cabin in a woods to live in. The little cabin was the most his mother could afford. It was not much, but they made do. Noah was always a content child. His head would be busy in books, and making new worthless inventions.
"You know.. if you took the lawn mower's engine it could move these boxes faster."
"None of that. You know, since your father's passing I will not have any of the invention commotion." Stated his mother sternly.
"Well, we've been here for 4 days now, and these boxes had not been opened yet."
His mother ignored and carried on with moving the boxes inside.
Noah continued, "I have a presentation to perform at school. I want to make little model houses! Ones that look like the houses back home."
Noah's mother went back inside and grabbed the coin pouch. She reached in and only pulled out less than a few. She did not have the money to supply his project.
She sighed disappointedly
"Oh."
Noah grabbed sticks from outside and brought them in.
"Its alright mom! Look here, I could build a little raft out of these, and present it at school. Perhaps even bring a bucket of water to make it float.
His mother smiled at that idea, and agreed.

The next day, Noah proudly walked into the classroom with a bucket of water and his stick raft.
Then, he looked around in fear seeing the other students having better projects than him.
"Look at what Noah brought." Said Mark. "A bunch of sticks taped over." They snickered as he presented.
With no time to finish explaining his project, the timid children threw papers around and created trouble. A boy and his 3 other peers had taken Noah's bucket.
wee
These kids were a group of friends named Mark, Benjamin, and James. Their lunch table would be filled. As much as the teachers hated them, their classmates loved the group. Just by walking by- and cracking a joke or two, the class would laugh.
At lunch, Noah slumped down. Mark approached Noah, and his two other friends followed. "Cool raft you had- did you find the sticks at your father's grave?" He looked back to see if his friends were laughing with him.
"You know." Stated James. "I heard he's here because his father passed away and now he can't even afford school supplies." The 3 kids laughed.
"My dad was an inventor! He would make cool objects. Even the ones we are using now." Exclaimed Noah. The three kids exchanged looks, and bursted out of laughter once again.
At home, Noah picked his food at the dinner table. His mother sat down besides him. "How was school?" She asked. Noah looked up at his mom and said, "School was horrible! I got made fun of- nobody wanted to listen to me showing off my project." The problem that Noah experienced sunk in his mother's heart. She wanted him to fit in and have an easier life after everything.
Noah spoke again, "They all had decorations, and this one girl named Michelle? She presented, and her project had lights around it! Even Mark, he was able to make his toy car move on it's own using solar power."

"It's not about what you don't have." Murmured his mother. She continued, "Your Noah, the son of one of the smartest inventor's I know. Look at what the world has to offer. I know you can think of something that would be way better."
"Yeah, but the project is over."
She smiled, "Not yet." Noah's eyes lit with excitement again.
She pulled out a flyer showing that there was an upcoming school science fair. "The teacher loved all of the projects and wanted to see how much more the class can do." She pulled one of the unopened boxes.

"I wasn't planning on opening this, but- I wanted to show you some of your father's work when he first began inventing." In the box there where little miniature toys made out of rocks, jewelry made from broken dishes. The creativity his father had inspired Noah to participate in the science fair.
The class rustled and went into their assigned groups. They were all ready to start a science fair project. Noah was paired with Mark, and Michelle.
"I don't want to work with him." Groaned Mark.
Michelle patted Noah's head. "Why not?"
"His mother is poor, he doesn't even have a father. For the first assignment he brought in a bunch of sticks. If your father is so smart, then why aren't you? Noah." Said Mark turning towards Noah.
He didn't speak. Not even a peep. He thought to himself; he's right, I'll never be smart.
"That is not true!" Exclaimed Michelle. "His raft had a structure- and it was unique from the rest of us for a reason. Your just jealous your dad bought your supplies from your local market rather than, actually being smart and making it from scratch." Scoffed Michelle.
Mark, too stunned to speak sat down. Then shortly said "Fine. Then you and Noah make something and I'll do one on my own. Whichever is best will be chosen." They all agreed and began working.
"Don't let him stop you. His dad is super rich and buys his way out of trouble. He's just jealous that you can make things just by using a plastic wrapper" Noah subtly smiled. then went back to work. Noah had an idea. Plastic.
