Hi, my name is Lilly! And I am  going to tell you about how awesome I am.

Kids like me have a hard time making eye contact, staying on task, communicating, and learning. Whew! that's a lot.

When I was little my parents brought in these really cool people who had lots of toys and things for me to play with. 

They told them that I had Autism, but that just means I need a little extra help!

Soon I was in school and I had a really cool helper who would try and show me pictures of things that I liked or disliked. She also had me try to make silly faces to help me express how I felt. 

One day when I was 3 years old my helper had me finger paint!

I loved it! I started painting pictures and I also started expressing how I felt. 

I would use yellow and paint a smile when I was happy, blue for when I was sad, and red for angry.

My helper started to ask me how I felt even when I would paint a smiling face! I got frustrated when she would continue asking so I painted a mad face and she still asked how I felt! 

I started yelling and doing my own facial expressions as well as point to the mad face picture, but she wouldn't listen! She took my paints away and took a paint sticker off of my "Goal Chart"! I was so close to getting an hour of painting too!

The other kids in my class would look at me like I was crazy but they didn't understand how angry I was.

She told me that I wasn't going to paint unless I told her how I felt!
