In Miss Rodriguez's class, Gloria was a new student and today was her first day. What makes Gloria unique and different from other students in the class is that she is in a wheelchair.

A wheelchair helps those who are immobile of their lower half of their body.

"Everyone, this is Gloria, and she is our new student in our class, everyone say Hello." explained Miss Rodriguez

All of the children welcomed Gloria to the class. 

At morning recess, all the children went outside to play.

Gloria decided to pass by the swings as her classmate Sally was about to get on.

"Ha! Ha! You can't get on the swings!" Sally yelled at Gloria.

Gloria began to cry and left the swings area. Then Miss Rodriguez saw that Gloria was upset.

"Gloria, what's wrong? What has made you upset?" asked Miss Rodriguez

"Sally hurt my feelings" said Gloria

Miss Rodriguez called Sally into the classroom to have a conversation. "Sally did you hurt Gloria's feelings today in the swings area?" Miss Rodriguez asked. "Yes Miss Rodriguez I did".

"Sally, Gloria is in a wheelchair which means she may need a little help doing certain things you and I may be able to do. And with you hurting her feelings, it seems like you do not want to be that people to help Gloria. Would you like it if someone laughed at something that makes you different?" explained Miss Rodriguez.

"No Miss Rodriguez, I'm sorry" said Sally. " Thank you now, I would like and appreciate you to go and apologize to Gloria please" responded Miss Rodriguez as they both walked towards the door.
