Ava has always wanted a dog ever since she was little. She would ask her parents, "Can I have a dog?" and her parents always responded, "No."

Can I have a dog?
No.
No.

Every day Ava would think about the dog of her dreams. Even though she knew she would never get one.

Every day at the park Ava would see all the other kids with their dogs playing together and that only made her want a dog even more!

Ruff!

Every day at school all Ava's classmates talk about their amazing dogs and how "cute" they are. Which makes Ava jealous and also embarrassed because she doesn't have one.

I have the cutest dog at home!
I have a
german-shepherd!
I love my dog!
All Ava wants is to have a dog. But her parents don't think she's responsible or old enough.

Please!
You're not responsible.
You're too young.

So every night before Ava goes to sleep she prays to God that she will one day have a dog.

And I pray that I will get a dog soon. Amen.
When Ava goes to the kitchen to eat breakfast she sees her parents behind the table in the dining room smiling. Ava wondered what they were doing.

Ava didn't know what was going on until they both said, "You can have a dog."
