Sometimes, we hide underground to protect us from predators. 

Hi! My name is Colby. I am a worm. The big storm last night covered up my home with water. I splashed out of bed and floated to the surface. That mean old Chester the Rat chased me into a leaf pile. I fell asleep waiting for that sneaky rat to go away! 

I visited my neighbor by slithering through the tunnel. He had a wonderful salad of leaves for me to eat!

Hi! My name is Lil Pilla. This is my Mommy. She said that fruits are healthy for me. We slithered out of the tunnels to find fresh food after a night of heavy rain. We moved really fast because we are extra slimy when we are wet. I hope a bird doesn't find us and eat us!

John and Comp the Worm Brothers are looking in the woods to enjoy a nice dinner of leaves and apples after the big storm.  John reminds Comp, " Look out little brother...don't get eaten by a hungry bird."

"Hungry bird?", said Comp. "I'm worried about Billy Kali the scary rat!"
