Today, I am going to the doctor for a check up. I am 

scared because I don't know what will happen. 

My mommy drove us to the clinic. She says 

everything is going to be fine.

We wait in the waiting room patiently. There's 

books to read and other kids to talk to, but I 

am worried about what's going to happen. 

The nurse calls out my name, and we follow 

her to another room.

The nurse tells me to take off my shoes. 

Then, she takes my height and weight. It's 

not so bad. 

I sit on a soft bench in the exam room. She 

takes my temperature. I know I'm not sick 

because she says my temperature is just 

right. 

The nurse asks for my hand. I let her hold my 

wrist while she takes my pulse. I'm not scared 

and it doesn't hurt at all. 

The nurse leaves and the doctor comes in and 

talks to my mom about me. He asks her a lot 

of questions. I am not scared anymore.

The doctor tells me to stick my tongue out. 

He presses on my tongue with a stick to look 

at my throat. It doesn't hurt, but it does feel 

funny.
