I dashed through the hallways. I was of course late, for the most important day of my life. Today, out of all days. Today was December 1, 2050. I started to run up the stairs, into the elevator. Then, I finally turned a corner to find my commander, and standing next to him was my greatest enemy, aka my partner for the next couple of months, Tiffany. She stood there with a smirk, her curly hair in her diamond eyes, glinting at me.
``You're late, Tess” Commander LaChance said in a stern voice. But he didn't wait for an explanation.

"You're late, Tess."
We quickly hurried to put on our spacesuits. We also had to review every part of the suit, such as the upper torso which we needed to assemble the arms. Another thing was the hard upper torso. This was important because if we didn't have this then we wouldn’t have oxygen flow. But that’s all I could go over before we had to prepare to leave.
It seemed that our communication technology was down on mars, so it was our job to go see if everything was okay. We were leaving in exactly three hours. I walked side by side with Tiffany Renardo. The silence was so awkward.
It was almost time to launch; they were just getting the rocket, the Orion. They had to make sure the engine was working right so that we could blast off into space. They also needed to make sure that the hot gasses would shoot off of the ground which would make us fly into the air, well more like the sky. One more thing they needed to make sure is that we had that momentum to shoot off the ground and fly into outer space.
I stepped into the room where I put my spacesuit on. Which took me about 45 minutes to get all 14 layers on. I looked at myself in the mirror, my brown hair was slicked back, and my black eyes glinted at myself. I stood up straight. I have been training for over 2 years for this moment. I couldn't believe i'm going to space. I'd been dreaming of this moment since I was a child.
Tiffany and I walked to the spaceship. I could feel a little tension between us.
Finally, we got into the spaceship( the Orion spacecraft)and were about to leave earth. I looked at Tiffany and she looked at me. We both gave each other a thumbs up ,but I knew that we were both nervous. They were already getting ready to take off. T-minus 10 seconds. Then, we heard the countdown. “10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1” “BOOM, WOOSH”BLAST OFF! Then we lifted up into the sky. It felt like I weighed 3 times my body weight.
We both started breathing heavily. Just then the light went out. I heard the commander's voice trying to get in contact with us.
All I wanted was to get this whole thing over with. It’s only been half a month in!! It feels like it’s been 10 years!! I wanted to get to mars!
“It’s time to eat!” the commander said.
“Ugh finally,” Tiffany said.
“Looks like somebody hangry!” I said.
“No, I'm not!!” Tiffany snapped at me.
“Well I'm so hungry I could eat a horse!” I laughed, grabbing my food pack. I ate beef, and some nuts. After that I went to bed.
January 12, A Monday. I always loved Mondays, it's a new start to the week. It was about 5 months till we got to mars so I had to strap myself in for whatever comes next. After I finished working and ate dinner I strapped myself into my sleeping bag (in my small crew cabin).
The thing about sleeping in space is you always have the craziest dreams. But when I woke up an hour later I quickly realized this wasn't a dream. “BOOM, CRASH '' it sounded like we were crashing through something very thick, but the ship was very still. “Tiffany wake up!!” I yelled.
She snorted awake “huh?”
“BANG” everything started to look fuzzy and blurry. Before I knew it I had passed out. I slowly opened my eyes. We both got out of our sleeping bags and went to go see what happened. The weird thing is we weren't hurt.
It just seemed like a practice run at NASA down on earth. We looked out our window. We seemed to be on Mars but not the Mars I saw in the photos.
The coordinates were glitching...it said 2031. I took a photo out of my pocket that my dad gave me for my 10th birthday. It was a picture of the old NASA station on Mars from 2029. I looked down and up. They were the same old buildings. ”Where are we?” I sighed.
“Come on,” Tiffany said towards the spaceship. I hurried after her. She started scrambling through our supplies. “What are you doing?! This is not the time to be looking around the ship!!” I yelled.
“Come on,” Tiffany she ran toward the spaceship . I hurried after her. She started scrambling through our supplies. “What are you doing?! This is not the time to be looking around the ship!!” I yelled.
“ I know we don't like each other but, you've got to trust me on this.” She pulled something out of the spaceship. A box. It looked like it was made out of metal, with a bunch of buttons on it. “Time Machine,” She pointed at it.

My jaw dropped. “Someone must've accidentally left it on here when we left.” Tiffany sighed.
“It looks broken down,” I stared at it.
“We should fix it so we can get back to the future,” Tiffany replied.
I carried the box thinking it would be light. Tiffany grabbed the other side of the box and smiled, I smiled back.
I sat down all sweaty and hungry. All we had was dried nuts. (yuck). Tiffany was walking back and forth talking to herself. I got up and said, “ it’s going to be okay.” We stepped out of the ship and looked around. We started to look and find materials that fell out of our ship. And use it to fix the ship.
After two weeks of building the ship's engine; and fixing the time machine, we were finally able to go to Mars. The real Mars.
After I set the time machine to the present date (2050) I went strapped into my seat. Then we started the countdown. “T-minus! 10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1!!! BLAST OFF!!! Suddenly the spaceship started shaking and through the window, all we could see was us going through all the galaxies. “Wow”, I said. Then there was a bright light, and we landed on mars.
As we got out we noticed this wasn't Mars. “We went to the future,” Tiffany breathed. When you imagine the future of Mars, you imagine buildings, flying cars, and houses. But this Mars was silent and we didn’t see anyone until we heard a loud Bang coming from the other side of the planet but didn’t think anything of it. Then we heard a engine. Could it be a spaceship? I thought, but this sounded like a mini engine.
Then came speeding in, a green alien(Lord Alderete the alien)in a mini donut spaceship. I knew what it was, at the sight of him. and he was about 3 feet tall. To be honest he kinda reminds me of a minion.
We jumped back and Tiffany grabbed a tool to defend herself. The alien has his hands up. “Don't!” I yelled at Tiffany. The alien pointed to our ship. “I think he wants something from the ship,” I said.
