She read her recipe, "Vanilla Cake: ½ cup unsalted butter, ½ cup canola oil ,1 ½ cup sugar, 4 large eggs, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract." Everyday after school Sam would bake all different types of pastries. She baked cookies, muffins, pies, but her all time favorite pastry to bake was her grandma's world famous vanilla cake. This vanilla cake was so different from any other cake. It was impossible for anyone to recreate it, but Sam knew exactly how to make the cake identical. She restated," Vanilla Cake: ½ cup of unsalted butter, ½ cup of canola oil ,1 ½ cup of sugar, 4 large eggs, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract."

As Sam was baking all of the sudden she hears an ad on the tv. The TV announcer said, "Do you have what it takes to be the next big baker?" All of the sudden Sam's eyes widened . The TV announcer continues, "Well, there is going to be a bake off on Saturday at 3:00 PM, be there to prove you are the next big thing!" There was going to be a bake off on Saturday to see who will take the trophy as the best junior baker. Sam got excited and told her mom, "Mom, can I pretty please go to the competition?" Her mom said," Of course, if that is what you want we will support you."
