Introduction: So, if you've just started watching One piece then this will be the perfect book for you. This book will tell you all about the one piece characters (straw hats) and all you should know about them.  Disclaimer: this book might be a little too intense for kids. this book is targeted for 12 and more. And yes, there will be spoliers up ahead. It's better to watch it first before knowing the characters and most of their backstorys. So first, lets take a look at the main character, Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy's dream is to become the king of pirates to show everyone what freedom is about. Luffy is known to have a devil fruit called the gum gum fruit. The gum gum fruit will make the user strechy, although the user will be not able to swim. He ate this fruit beacause Shanks (which is a character we will talk about in the next part) was making fun of Luffy when he was talking about becoming a pirate and when some other pirates rolled up, Shanks was caught off gaurd and Luffy ate the fruit out of frustration. Luffy's bounty after the Wano arc is 3,000,000,000 bellies.

all of Luffy's transformations are called gears. Gear 2 is the first transformation of luffy's. It dramatically boosts Luffy's speed and increases his heart rate. It is dangerous for Luffy to use it beacuse it shortens his life time by a few minutes. Gear 3 is probably the weakest gear as the only thing it does is make Luffy's hands bigger. It is kind of useful as it makes much more damge than the other ones. the side effects of gear 3 is shrinking. Gear 4 is the second strongest as it makes luffy attacks much stronger and has a lot more range compared to the others. there isint much to say about it though. we will talk about gear 5 in the last page.

The one and only Zoro

Zoro is a swordsman that wants to become the best swordsman in the world.He uses 3 swords in total making him professional. He used to have a rival called Kuina. She had a dream of becoming the best swordsman in the world. When zoro was young Kuina died becauase she fell off the stairs and died of impact. Zoro then decided that he would avenge Kuina by becoming the worlds strongest swordsman. He joined Luffy's crew because he wanted to become stronger. He has a 1,111,000,000 bounty after Wano.

Nami (The gold digger) 

Nami is a girl that likes money and tangerines. She was only 10 when a pirate named Arlong invaded her town and killed her foster mother, Bellemare. She once joined Luffy's crew in the beginning of the manga/anime, as she tried to use the Going Merry (The ship) as a way to come back her home town and pay Arlong so that he wouldn't bother her village anymore. She got tricked and Luffy, Sanji, Zoro and Usopp had to help her defeat Arlong. It was revealed that Arlong had abused Nami to make her write maps for the world. This made Luffy furious, landing the finally blow on Arlong and destroying Arlong park, freeing the village as a whole. Nami then decided to join the crew for good after the arc. Her bounty is about 366,000,000 million berries after Wano, which makes her have the second lowest bounty in the straw hats crew.

Tony tony Chopper

Tony tony Chopper was the second straw hat to have a devil fruit. He used to be a normal reindeer but after he ate a fruit by accident, he turned into a human reindeer. Chopper tried to fit in with the other humans in his snowy village, but they chased him out of his village. Eventually, a guy named Dr. Hirluk took him in, training him to be a doctor. One day, one day, Dr. Hirluk fell sick to an uncurable dieases. Chopper decided to try and find the rarest medicine called the Amiudake mushroom, not knowing that it was a poisonous one. Dr. Hirluk kicked out Chopper of his house due to him not wanting to worry about him. Dr. Hiriluk eventually died by the mushroom, exploding once Chopper found him. When Luffy's crew met him, they decided to take him with them. Choppers bounty is only 1,000 bellies, witch is the lowest bounty in the entirety of One piece.
