It was a warm summer day and best friends Jaja Ji and Roase were on the school bus, excited to arrive at The National Museum of American Religion for their school's field trip.
(Exposition)
Ms. Zobado, their teacher, announces, "The National Museum of American Religion is for educating the public about the many different religions that our country has, and how it might affect all of you later on in your lives" ("Who Are We?").
When they arrive through the doors, Jaja Ji and Roase decide to stick together and explore the museum by themselves. They sneak away from the rest of the group and accidentally walk into the closed off exhibit called 'Christianity'.
(Conflict Introduced)
Jaja Ji spots a painting of a man on a cross and shows it to Roase exclaiming, "Hey look, it's Jesus! My grandma told me that Jesus was once killed for our sins but was then brought back to life again, I wish to be like him someday" ("The Core Concepts").
Roase however was focused on something big and shiny over in the corner, but she couldn't tell what it was.
(Rising Action 1)
Roase gets closer and sees that it's a statue of an old man. "Woahhhh," she says, "Jaja Ji come take a look at this!"
"No Wayyyyy!" replies Jaja Ji, "We should take it home to show my grandma! She loves shiny things like this. I bet it would make her happy."
"That's such a good idea," admits Roase, but she can't help but feel the butterflies in her stomach as they leave the room with the statue in her bag.
(Rising Action 2)
(Rising Action 3)
Jaja Ji and Roase walk past the rest of their classmates in the Ancient Mayan exhibit, learning about the different gods.
They overhear Ms. Zobado saying, "Here's my favorite! The God of Rain, Chaac! Sacrifices of young boys and girls who were up to no good were carried out in honor of Chaac, so you all should be on your best behavior today, otherwise who knows what will happen to you" (Maestri).
As Roase darts past the opening to the Ancient Mayan exhibit, Ms. Zobado spots her.
"Roase Jean-Louise! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING!" shouts Ms. Zobado.
Jaja Ji's mind starts to race, "Quick! Give me the golden statue! I'll run!"
"No! It's better if we show it to Ms. Zobado and see what she thinks about it!"
Soon the two of them start fighting over what to do, and they don't see Ms. Zobado start to run towards them, full of anger.
(Climax)
In all the chaos, the golden statue fell from Roase's bag onto the museum floor.
"ROASE WHAT IS THAT ON THE FLOOR!" shouted Ms. Zobado.
Ashamed of their actions, Roase and Jaja Ji admit that they took it from the 'Christianity' exhibit in the Museum.
"I'm very disappointed in both of you, I thought you both knew better than to steal statues of the Buddha!"
