But when they both got out of bed, Kiya noticed something wasn't right. 

On a nice warm spring morning, Luka and his sidekick Kiya woke up to the birds chirping. 

Both quickly jumped out of bed and saw the window was broken, but how could that have happened they wondered. 

"Oh no!! Someone left all this trash in our yard and one of the bottles must have hit our window", Luka said to Kiya. 

Luka and Kiya look at each other and know that there is only one thing they can do.

They have to find trash cans and recycling bins to pick up all the trash in their yard. 

Luka then remembers that Mom and Dad keep the trash and recycling bins in the front of the house. So off to the front of the house they went. "Here they are!" Luka said. 

                 ???

"But what goes in what bin?" Luka wondered. "Maybe we should ask Mom." Luka and Kiya started to make their way back inside to find Mom. 

Luka finds Mom in the kitchen and tells her about all the trash in the yard and asks her what goes in the garbage and what goes in the recycling. 

"Well, Luka things such as paper, plastic bottles, boxes, and glass can go in the recycling! Everything else will go in the garbage bin!"

Mom then showed me some examples of what to put in the recycling bins. 

"See here honey, you can put all of these things in the recycling!"
