There is a strip of woods beside my house. It has big green hills, a flowing creek, and an oval shaped pond in it. You can see deer, frogs, insects, squirrels, chipmunks, and raccoons. I love going exploring there with my brother. What I didn't like about the woods was all the trash.

When we moved into our house, the woods and creek were covered in trash. Decaying plastic bags, grimy soda bottles, and faded food wrappers were everywhere. There was even a blue rusted bed frame in the creek!

When I went into the woods and looked at the creek and hills, I felt bad for the animals and plants that lived there. I decided we needed to do something about it. I convinced my mom and brother to help me clean up the woods.

My mom gave my brother and I gloves and big black garbage bags. We all worked for hours cleaning up the hills in the woods. We were filthy, sweaty, and sticky but the woods looked so much better.

Next, we had to clean out the creek. We went to the store. My mom bought my brother and I waterproof boots so we could clean the garbage out of the creek easier.

I liked splashing in the water with my new boots. It made cleaning the creek a lot more fun. My brother and I trudged in the water for two hours cleaning garbage out of the creek. There was a pair of disgusting shoes, a tattered backpack, greasy parts to a grill, and even a muddy plastic hamster ball in the water!
