Chapter 1:
Leaving
“You can’t just leave,” complained Mom, “You’re too young, and you have
no money. How are you going to get anywhere?” “I’ll find a way,” I say,
packing up the last of my things. “Raya,” Mom said, “Please don’t go.” “I
have no choice, Mom,” I say, “Bye.” “No! Raya! Please!” shouted Mom as I
walked out the door. Mom is now on her knees, crying. Don't look back, I
told myself. Don't do it. I get in my car and sigh. You're doing the right
thing. I start my car and exit the driveway. A tear dropped down my
cheek as I did. The last thing I saw before the bushes covered my view,
was the sad and disappointed look on my Mom's face. I start to cry at the
thought. Just then, my GPS turned on and said, "Where would you like to
go?" "Nowhere," I answer. I turn off my GPS.
Chapter 2:
Sleeping in a Car
It was now pitch black outside, and I was starting to get tired. Time to go
to sleep, I told myself. I grabbed a pillow from the car trunk and then
went into the back seat. How is this going to work? I ask myself. I get lay
sideways on all the back seats. But it wasn't comfortable. I lay right side
up. But it wasn't comfortable. I lay on the ground in the car instead of
the seats. And that was even more uncomfortable. How am I going to
sleep? I ask myself. I then get back in the front seat and lay the seat
down. Okay, that's better. It wasn't as comfortable as my bed back home,
but it was better than the other ideas I had. I pull my blanket over my
body, shivering because of how cold it was outside. As the blanket starts
to warm my body, I close my eyes and fall into a deep sleep.
Chapter 3:
Low Gas
I woke up with the warm sun shining on my face. And as I opened my
eyes, I could see beautiful, small birds flying in the sky. *Yawn* Right
when I woke up I got straight to business. I put all of my sleeping things
in the back trunk, got back in the front seat, and started the car. But
when I did, I saw that my gas was low. Really low. Oh, no! I start to
panic. I had no money so I couldn't pay for gas. Do I just leave my car
here and walk? And if I do have to walk, how will I be able to transport
all my stuff? I was in a lot of trouble. "Okay," I say, "Okay, okay, okay, I
can do this. I just have to figure out a solution. If there even is
one." I didn't know what to do. Wait, I can get a job! A day job that is. Yes!
