Chapter 1:
Waking Up In a Hospital
I woke up with a jolt. I start breathing heavily. Where am I? I thought. I look around
the room. I’m in a hospital! Okay, I need to do the three "here's": What am I doing
here? How did I get here? I need to get out of here! Just then, a doctor walked into
the boring, gloomy, hospital room. “Hello,” he said, “I’m Dr. Daniel.” “Hi,” I say, “I’m
Raya • • • • • what am I doing here exactly?” “Well, you were in a car crash and
somebody found you knocked out and called an ambulance.” “Okay, “I say, “Well,
thank you for making me feel better, but I have to go now, so see ya.” I get out of the
hospital bed and make my way toward the door. “Wait,” said Dr, Daniel “You need to
wait till we call your parents.” Oh, no! My • • • • • parents?
Chapter 2:
Escaping
“You don’t need to call them,” I say, “Really. You don’t.” “How old are you?” asks Dr Daniel. “I’m 17,” I respond. “Exactly,” said Dr. Daniel, “Your too young to be out alone. And aren’t you supposed to be in school?” “I graduated early,” I say. “Well, you too young, then,” said Dr. Daniel, “You need to go home, Raya.” "What if I don't want to go home?" "You don't have a choice," Dr. Daniel stated. He then opened the door and left the room. Okay, time to go. I opened the window and slid my body through it. "Goodbye, hospital," I say, walking off. It was now the afternoon and I had no vehicle, so I walked. I walked for hours and hours and it seemed like I was never going to find my car. Ever.
Chapter 3:
The Motel
I now stand in front of a motel, staring at it. I walk into the motel and it was warm inside. "Hello," said a man who worked at the motel, "How may I be of service?" Wow. This motel is amazing and professional. And also Kind. "Can I get a room, please?" I ask. "Of course!" the man said, cheerfully. "How will you be paying?" "Umm," I say, "Well, would it be okay if I could just work for you to pay for my room?" "That should be fine. Besides, we do need more employees." I laugh. "Let me see what rooms are available for you." "Okay," I say. As he looked for rooms for me I said, "By the way, I'm Raya." "I'm Carlos," he said. "A-ha! Found you a room. Would you like to see it?" "Yes, please," I say.
