BANG BOOM! 

The house shook and the windows clattered from the thunderstorm rolling through the middle of the night.

 BOOM! The sound of thunder woke up Nate who was dreaming of having a great adventure with his cat, Godfrey. 

Godfrey, is Nate’s best friend and is very special to him. Little did he know of the fun they would have later that day. That morning, Nate put on his boots and headed out the door with his best friend, Godfrey.

There was so much rain from the night before that ducks were playing in the yard.

Godfrey made a dash toward them. She wanted to play too, but the ducks flew away. Curious Godfrey decided to follow them.

When Nate saw that Godfrey was headed for the road he ran after her but slipped in the mud hitting his head. Nate was able to get back up and grab Godfrey just in time before she got to the road.

Nate picked Godfrey up and headed home, saying, “That’s enough adventure for today!” 

But this was

 just the beginning!

When Nate got home his parents cleaned the mud off of him and Godfrey. Nate told his parents that he hit his head and it was hurting.

They decided to take him to the hospital to get a special X-ray called a CAT scan.  Nate really wanted Godfrey to come along so he scooped up Godfrey and they all headed off for another adventure.

At the hospital, the nice CT Technologist showed Nate the big machine called a “CAT scan,” which would take a picture of his brain. Godfrey’s ears perked up, hearing the word “CAT”!
