There was once a mermaid called Maurine.

Her boyfriend told her terrible tales of going up to land.

Maurine got super  frightened and didn't even dare to see the bright blue sky.

Sadly, Maurine's father died one day and Maurine stayed on the bottom of the ocean all day.

She felt so unsecure without him and didn't even go up to the part where the water got shallow.

But one day when Maurine was a little bit older she thought, " What would happen if I really did go up to the shore?"

Maurine barely remembered her ex-boyfriend, and she was 16 now, so she did just what she did.

Maurine secretly went up to the shore and stared at the big crystal sky and the pure golden sand.

Maurine tried her best to go closer to the sand, but she did not turn into a human and she couldn't breath. 

It felt so wonderful being out on a sunny day in the beach Maurine didn't want to go back to the water.

She pulled herself closer out, her nails digging in the sand and little grains getting deeper in.

When Maurine reached a bright of warm sand she laid on her back and stood there, sunbathing.

But suddenly, Maurine realised she couldn't hold her breath any longer and tried going back to the water but it was too far. 

Maurine realised she just couldn't make it and panicked a lot. What was going to happen? was it going to be something from her boyfriend's legend?
