You've heard that question many times by now, right?
This is a big decision that you won't have to make for
several years. This is the time to learn about careers
and use your time in school to think about the things you
like.
Deciding what to do for a career is like putting the
pieces of a puzzle together. Ask yourself what you like
to do? what are your strengths? This will help you figure
out what kind of job you would like to do.Chapter 1

Aerospace Engineering is a specialized field of
engineering. There are many types of engineers, one
for almost any interest you might have.
Luckily for engineers they have many choices when
it comes to finding an employer. Aerospace engineers
find jobs in a variety of industries. Aerospace engineers
work on teams with other engineers, designers, and
business people.

Aerospace engineers also design cars to be more aerodynamic.
Aerodynamics is the study of the movement of air and how objects move
through the air. Improving the design of the automobiles improves
the fuel efficiency. Cars that get better gas mileage cost less to main-

a golf ball, baseball, basketball, the list goes on and on. Because
balls are objects that move through the air just like cars, they also
are designed to be more aerodynamic. Aerospace engineers test new
materials and designs to maximize performance.
Of course aerospace engineers design planes, rockets and space-
ships. They look for materials that are strong and light. Designs are
changed to improve an aircraft or spacecrafts movement through

school for 4 more years after graduation high school. Following these
suggestions will help prepare you for a career in engineering.
1. Take all the math and science classes you can in school.
2. Have fun with science! Check out You tube for projects
you can do at home with a grown-up.
3. Watch the Discovery Channel or TLC
4. Use your imagination every chance you get.
5. Be curious and ask questions.
