I dedicate this book to Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, and all the other geniuses of the previous generations, and to my family, for
all their support. :) :) :)

For my project, I have chosen Dreux, France. It is
a commune in the Eure-et-Loir department in
northern France. The Eure-et-Loir is a French
department named after the Eure and Loir rivers
in the northern region of France. Dreux is located
approximately 52.0088 miles from Paris. The
absolute location of Dreux is 48.7372° N, 1.3664°
E.

Here are some characteristic about Dreux that make it
unique. It is neighboring with Spain and Germany, and
is very close to Italy. It is currently in Central European
Summer Time(CEST). The time in Dreux is 6 hours
ahead of us. When the time is 6:00 here, it is midnight
there. A couple of big cities located near Dreux are
Vernon, France, Limay, France, and Elancourt, France.

The population in 2008 was 31,212. The greatest
increase in population was in 1968 when the population
grew 36%. The greatest decrease in population was in
1999 when the population decreased by 9%, far less
than the greatest increase. The most recent mayor of
Dreux was Gérard Hamel. The area of Dreux is 24.27
km²(9.37 mi²). This small city was the birthplace of
many famous people, such as Eddie London, Jean
Rotrou, and François-André Danican Philidor, a chess
player!! :) :).(I play chess). All in all, Dreux may seem
like a small town, but really it is a large city.

People may be asking, "Do the people of Dreux trade?"
The answer is no,they do not. But I did find something
interesting. The first Count of Dreux was Sir Robert,
son of, get this, King Louis the Fat. He lived from the
year 1081 to 1137. The first large battle of The French
Wars of Religion occurred in Dreux on Dec. 19, 1562.
The Catholics won the war. Dreux is in the Centre
region of France, one of the 27 regions in the country
of France.

One of the famous churches in Dreux is the Saint-Pierre
church, a Roman Catholic church constructed between
the 13th and the 16th century. The building was
destroyed in 1944. It has since been reconstructed. And
Dreux was known in ancient times as Durocassium. The
ancient Romans built a forbidden camp called Castrum
Drocas. In 1775, the land of Dreux was given to the
Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, duc de Penthièvre. Since
1960, Dreux has been twinned with Todi, Italy, and
Bautzen, Germany, and Melsungen, Germany.
