To Luna, Cody, and kitties, with love

In a quiet village, there lived two inseparable sister cats named Candy and Cupcake. They shared everything, from sunny days to stormy nights. One day, they embarked on a journey that would teach them about the power of love, healing, and supporting one another.

The Whispering Wind
One somber evening, a gentle breeze whispered a message to Candy and Cupcake. It was a reminder of their beloved Grandma Whiskers, who had left pawprints on their hearts. They were recently told Grandma Whiskers had died. When someone dies, their bodies stop working. It's like when a toy or a plant gets too old or broken and can't be fixed. When this happens to a person or animal, we say that they have died. This means they won't be able to talk, eat, or play anymore. They're not in pain or feeling anything anymore. With heavy hearts, Candy and Cupcake set out to explore the world of grief.

The Memory Meadow
In a meadow filled with wildflowers, they met Hopper, a wise old rabbit. Hopper said, "When someone you love dies, you can feel scared, angry, sad, or a mix of emotions. This is called grieving. Grieving can be like an ocean wave, it comes and goes. Sometimes it can feel like a gentle tide, while other times a raging current." Hopper taught them that remembering Grandma Whiskers was a way of honoring her memory and keeping her spirit alive in their hearts. Together, they gathered wildflowers and shared stories of their cherished memories.
The Waterfall of Tears
Candy and Cupcake walked upon a shimmering waterfall. A caring swan named Sophie gently guided them, showing that expressing their sadness was a natural part of healing. Sophie said, "Everyone grieves differently, you must go through your grief, as it cannot be avoided. It's okay to ask for help too. Support from family and friends can help you feel less alone in the process. It takes time to go through grief and it's okay to talk about your feelings." Candy and Cupcake's tears flowed freely as the waterfall carried their sorrows away, leaving space for peace.

The Tree of Comfort
High above, they found a sturdy tree adorned with colorful balloons. Near this tree, they met a compassionate deer named Daisy. She reminded Candy and Cupcake of supporting each other with love and kindness. Together, they wrote notes of comforting messages to Grandma Whiskers. All together they placed the messages on the balloons. Then, Candy and Cupcake sang a beautiful lullaby Grandma Whiskers would sing to them when they were kittens.
