“Wow, I can't believe we're going camping at Sparkle Haven Lake this weekend!” said Sally.  "Yeah, it's going to be a great weekend,” said Tim, Sally's brother, as they pulled off of the wooded trail into the campsite.

    The family and their huge brown dog, named Buddy, hopped out of their big red Toyota 4Runner. After exploring their campsite and the surrounding area, Tim and Sally went to help their parents set up their tent.

     "It looks like there might be a big storm tonight " said their dad as the air around them began to cool. After they finished setting up the tent, the family decided to go on a hike to see the lake from above. 

"Whoa" exclaimed Tim, "this is so cool!" It was an amazing view: they could see the sparkling lake, all the fish swimming and multiple islands in the lake. They could also see many dark storm clouds gathering over the lake near their campsite.

    “We should head back to the campsite” said their dad. Their mom  agreed so they started hiking back to their campsite.

 After the family made it back to their campsite, they decided to light a campfire to roast the marshmallows they had brought with them. Suddenly there was a bolt of lightning and a clap of thunder. Then the rain started, at first it was just small little drops but it grew into big drops then giant drops and finally into hail the size of grapes. 

    The wind was rushing through the trees, further cooling the already chilly air.  "I'm scared,” said Sally “ I hate thunderstorms .’’ The family went into their tent to escape from the storm. “Oh no,” said their dad “ we forgot to bring Buddy back into the tent with us. He probably got scared and ran away.”

    Everyone got out of the tent to help find Buddy. Sally was still very scared but she had to help.
