"It was a cold and dark Halloween night. The wind was howling. The branches of the trees creaked and groaned as Davey and Jason walked across the road and into the park. Suddenly, they heard a strange noise behind them. They turned around, and what do you suppose they saw?"

As they spun around, Davey and Jason felt terrified! Suddenly, they came face to face with a vampire! They ran toward the direction of their local neighborhood. At this point they sprinted to their safe home. They locked the door very tightly.

Outside, the vampire let out a bloodcurdling scream. After a while, the sun started to rise! Since vampires cannot survive in the sun, the vampire ran for cover! He found safety under a park bench. As the sun sprang out and shows its brilliant glowing colors, the vampire turned to a big pile of dust! Davey and Jason looked at the pile of dust with disgust while they cleaned it up. Who knows it was just the beginning of the adventure...
The next night, Davey and Jason snuck out together as usual. As they stepped onto the sidewalk, they saw a faint glowing light from the park, and a crackling noise of vines snapping.

The pumpkin patch!
They ran to the ginormous shadow starting to loom against the fir trees.
By the time Davey and Jason arrived at the pumpkin patch, or what was left of the pumpkin patch, a crowd of people were gathered around a huge, impossibly bright Jack o lantern!!!

"OMG, what is that?!?" said James, Davey and Jason's friend. "I think it's a pumpkin" "Or a giant ball" suggested Davey, still shocked by the jack o lantern's appearance.
"We gotta cut it down" hollered a man holding up saws. "No, we have to burn it!" shouted back a teenager, holding up flaming torches.
While the men squabbled over which way they should destroy the pumpkin, the three friends watched as the pumpkin grew legs and arms.

Soon the pumpkin turned into a huge person with a pumpkin for a head. "Ich habe Hunger!!!" The pumpkin screamed with fury as he stepped on houses, wrecking everything in sight.

Meanwhile, the friends ran to James's house, which luckily wasn't in the path of the unstoppable pumpkin monster.

Since James's father was a scientist who invented different ways to defeat monsters, James has many different gadgets at home, just in case his father is on a trip to teach people how to use his Cyclops-Catcher.
