Leo was a little boy who loved whales. However, Leo had never seen a whale before, only in pictures. But he'd like to make friends with a whale.

    So, one night, Leo went outside to the beach and went to the water. He shouted, ''Is there any whales around here? I would like to meet one!''

    Suddenly, Leo heard a whale singing to him. Leo sang back.

    ''Can I ride on your back?'' Leo asked when the song was over.

    The whale said yes. So Leo climbed onto the whale's back. Leo learned the whale's name was Whaley.

    Whaley swam over the water. ''Whee!'' Leo shouted. 

    ''Do you want to see underwater?'' The whale asked.

    ''Sure!'' Leo replied.

   So they dived underwater and saw many colorful fish. Then they had to pop back up for air.    

    ''Can I take you to see my family?'' the whale asked.

    ''Yes, please,'' Leo said. So they traveled to Whaley's home for a long time.

Finally, they arrived at Whaley's home.

    ''This is my family. This is my little brother Bubbles, my sister Melody, and my mom and dad,'' Whaley told Leo. ''Would you like to meet my friends now?''    

    ''Of course!'' Leo said. So Whaley and Leo swam a little longer until they reached Whaley's friends.

    ''This is Tilly, Sandy, and Fin,'' Whaley told Leo. ''Would you like to see the playground?'' 

    ''Sure!'' Leo said happily.

The playground had whale swings.

    ''Thank you for taking me here,'' Leo said. He was having so much fun.

    ''You're welcome,'' Whaley replied.
