It is normal to get nervous when around many people, but it is necessary to adapt to live freely.

When Diego was just a baby, he was an only child. He had no siblings to play with, it was just him, and his parents.
They had lived in a part of the forest where there were no other animals. Diego only knew his mother and his father and there were not many other dinosaurs in their forest.
Each time they had to leave for food, Diego would get really scared. He would explain to his father that he feared the other animals. His father would reply with, ¨There is nothing to be afraid of, we are right here with you!¨

¨There is nothing to be afraid of, we are right here with you!¨
Diego began to grow quickly, he was already much bigger than the other animals.
His father would explain to him that he would not be around forever to protect him. Diego needed to learn how to survive in the wild all on his own.
Diego would always just shrug it off. He was afraid of his own shadow, he had no interest in going off all by himself.

¨Son, your mother and I will not always be around to protect you. One day you will have to go out on your own. You need to learn to protect yourself.¨
The first time Diego had left home alone, he encountered some monkeys who were upset about him entering their territory.
They shouted at him, ¨Scram!¨ ¨Get out of here!¨ ¨Go away!¨
This is what Diego had feared. He was very upset by these monkeys and he wondered why they did not like them. Diego wished that there were more animals like him living in the forest.
Diego began to cry and he ran back home to his mother.

Scram!
Get out of here!
Go away!
Diego´s mother explained how the monkeys were probably just scared because of how big Diego was.
Diego remained upset and he refused to leave home alone again after that.
Even though Diego was now bigger than his mother, and most other animals in the forest, he still felt the safest in his mother´s presence.
His mother tried to motivate him, but he refused to leave so she continued to protect.

¨Diego, the monkeys were probably frightened by you because you are much bigger than them. They cannot hurt you.¨
Diego would sometimes walk away from home to see the sunrise. At this time, only the birds were awake and they did not bother Diego too much.
There was an open field not far from his home, Diego was still close enough to see his father in the distance. He never comes upon any other animals here, this is his getaway.
Diego can feel some peace here, he is not afraid to be alone here.

One day, Diego´s parents had left before Diego had woken up. He had woken up in a panic. He began to cry and tried to go back to sleep when suddenly he heard a small laugh. Diego stood up and asked, ¨Who is there?¨
¨My name is Oscar,¨ said the owl sitting on the tree. ¨What are you so afraid of?¨
¨I am afraid to be alone,¨ explained Diego. ¨The other animals have been mean to me.¨
¨Well you´re not alone now,¨ said Oscar.

¨You are not alone now.¨
¨I am afraid to be alone.¨

Diego and Oscar spent the morning talking, Diego even brought Oscar to the field that he enjoys.
Oscar explains how he was abandoned when he was just a baby. He had to learn how to live on his own, and with that came some bravery.
Diego was impressed, Oscar was not afraid of anything and he was just a small owl. Oscar helped show Diego that there was not much to fear out in the wild. Oscar says, ¨the animals are pretty nice if you get to know them!¨
