One day there was a baby monkey and its’ mother up 

in the Canopy. They started discussing what it is like 

on all of the other levels of the rain forest. [Emergent 

level, Forest floor, and Understory, also they live n the 

Canopy] This conversation went on for all day. Baby 

monkey grew interested about all of other levels.

He asked his mother all at once, can I go to the forest 

floor? His mother replied, no! Our place may be small 

but we have half of the world’s species, you never 

know what is going to happen. Later… at morning, 

when everyone was asleep baby monkey went out to 

the forest floor. DUN, DUN, DUUUUUUUUN!!! Then 10 

minutes later baby monkey saw a snake and poked it.

Then the snake left and gathered up all of his baby 

snakes and circled around him. Luckily most of the 

rain forest had been destroyed, it used to be 6 million 

square miles, and now it is only 2.4 million. If it was 

still 6 million there would be snakes above him. Also, 

every time he howled he stalled the snakes for a 

second. The weird thing is that he was only calling for 

his mother to help him. Then, all at once they striked! 

[These are poisonous snakes]

But right before the venom got to him; his mother 

swooped in and saved him. Then, they had a long talk 

about it and if you really need to go down you have to 

ask Filbert, Filby, or Fibly. Even thought rain forests 

are in every continent but Antarctica, and this has 

probably happened to other monkeys, I never thought 

you would be one of them. Now go hit the hay, it’s 

getting dark, so that means no howling tonight. He 

slowly became sleepy, and soon, he was as sleepy as 

a Koala.
