detergents, floor and furniture polish,

fire hazard along with either a minor blast
hazard or a minor projection hazard or
both. Examples include aerosol cans,
propane tanks and butane fillers for
cigarette lighters.

Safety Precautions When Handling
Hazardous Materials:
1. Check the labels on containers and follow any
handling instructions.
2. Use protective clothing and equipment such as a
mask and gloves.
3. Keep hazardous substances away from children,
food, animal feed, seeds, fertilizer or flammable
material such as gasoline or oil.


Safety Precautions continued:
4. Check if any containers are damaged or leaking. Put
leaking containers inside another secure container
and put a label on the outside describing the
contents.
5. Store chemicals in labeled containers (ideally the
original container), with lids tightly closed.
6. Don't eat or drink when handling chemicals.

2. If you need to keep your container, you must visit one of the
landfill drop-off locations. Never pour out materials at the fire
station locations.
3. Keep each substance separate. Never mix them together.

container, clearly label the container with the true contents.
