It was after the time of the flood when people started being wicked again. God was not pleased with them, even more so when they decided to build a tower to reach the heavens.         

    Do you know why they built it?

    They wanted to fight against God! Some people said they wanted to put their own gods in heaven to worship them there, while other insisted smiting God with bows and spears.

    They were CRAZY! There was no possible way to fight against Him let alone DEFEAT Him!

    Didn't they know that God created them Himself? How can they destroy their creator?!

    The people building the tower thought God couldn't stop them. ''He already sent a flood,'' they told each other. ''What more can He do to stop us? He gave a promise, remember? He'll never destroy us with a flood.''

    But God had a plan...

The Promise did not stop God.

He had a plan.

    The people's sin was great. If a brick fell on the ground and broke, they would all mourn for it. But if a man fell on the ground and passed away, no one would even look at him. God knew he had to stop this foolishness.

    God told 70 angels, ''Come, let's go down there and confuse their speech that they may all talk different languages.''

    At the end of that day, no one could understand each other! They were all confused...

    and scared. God was coming down to punish them, and there was no running away.

Angels came down from the heavens

    So, they stopped building the tower, and from that day forward, the tower was called 'The Tower of Babel,' for God confused the languages of the Earth.

    After everyone scattered around the earth, the earth opened its mouth and destroyed a third of the tower. Afterward, a fire came down from heaven and destroyed another third. In the book of Jasher, it was said that they left another third alone. So, it is possible part of the tower is left behind today.
