I am an African buffalo.
You humans should not bother learning my name. For before my mother had the time to name me, she and my father were captured by humans.
And thus, I should hate humans. But us buffalos are chill about it. So I don't mind.
In the savanna, I am all alone. None of my kind have survived. All because of the humans. Think about it: what have we ever done to you?
And yet, in my full years of living here, I have not seen a single soul.
Not a single black or pure heart has been here. Except me. And one day, though my life has felt like a very, very, long day, I see a soul perched on the tree.
It is a monkey.
Now, my kind are not known to talk to monkeys, but I am desperate, and I approach the monkey as he swings from the tree, eating a large banana.
