Once upon a time, at the foot of the mountains, Erzurum, the pearl of the east, and its neighbour Tbilisi were writing one of the unforgettable stories of friendship. The two cities were closely connected throughout history, full of cultural exchanges, trade routes, and brotherhood ties.
Erzurum's stone streets, historic inns, and blue skies met with Tbilisi's warm embrace. At the heart of both cities lived people who knew the value of friendship and tolerance. However, this friendship sometimes goes beyond ordinary stories, doesn't it?
Our story begins with two young men: Ali and David. Ali was a proud resident of Erzurum; he was calm, patient, and loved by everyone. David was an energetic citizen of Tbilisi, cheerful, enthusiastic, and able to make everyone laugh. The two young people met one day and immediately became close to each other.
In the beginning, even though their languages were different, their hearts were the same. Ali showed David the customs, food, and streets of Erzurum. David introduced Ali to Tbilisi's colourful festivals, dances, and hospitality. Each time they met, they embarked on a new adventure.
One day, the two young men decided to climb the snow-covered mountains of Erzurum. When they reached the top of the mountains, they were greeted by a magnificent view. Ali pointed to the dazzling view and said, "Look David, isn't Erzurum a beautiful city?" David replied with a smile, "Yes, indeed it is. But Tbilisi is also full of its own beauties."
It was a moment for both of them when they realised how valuable their friendship was. At the top of the mountain, at a site where Erzurum and Tbilisi meet, they added another memory to their friendship.
As time passed, Ali and David worked together to strengthen the bridge between the two cities. As trade, cultural exchange, and tourism increased, the friendship between Erzurum and Tbilisi deepened. Events, festivals, and mutual visits between the two cities reinforced people's love and respect for each other.

In the twilight of their lives, Ali and David looked back at the journey they had embarked upon so many years ago. They often sat together, now at a favored café that straddled the border of their beloved cities, sipping tea and reminiscing about the past. It was here, under the shade of an old walnut tree, that they watched the new generation carry forward the torch of friendship and collaboration they had ignited.
Their story had inspired countless others—schools in both cities now taught the languages of their neighbors, fostering understanding from an early age. Annual cultural festivals had grown, now marked by a grand parade that wound its way through both Erzurum and Tbilisi, symbolizing the inseparable bond between the two cities. Scholarships and exchange programs flourished, allowing students from both cities to study and live across the border, learning new ways of life and building lifelong friendships.
