Lilly loves adventure and has always dreamt of going on one. She would imagine going through different parts of the world, exploring new places everyday. Lilly is just a child and can't go anywhere alone but she still insists on going on adventures, having fun and learning new things. After Lilly planned her journey and packed everything she needs in her backpack, she grabbed Lucy, her pet bunny, and went over to her parents to tell them that she is leaving and is going to go on an adventure.

Lilly’s parents told her that she is not allowed to leave because it’s very dangerous for her. They also told her to put everything back and go to her room and play with her toys. This got Lilly very mad because she was looking forward to going on an adventure and she started planning to run away using the spaceship that her dad got her. Lilly’s dad told her to never go on the spaceship alone but she ignored his rules and decided to go on it anyways. She ran away through the back door of the kitchen and quietly got on the spaceship. Lilly, of course, didn’t forget to bring her pet bunny, Lucy, along the way too.

 Lilly gets ready for take off and there she goes, flying through space with no idea of where to go because she forgot her map at home. As Lilly is looking around she decides to drop beside a temple where she lands her spaceship and hides it with an invisibility cloak. She then walks towards the temple with her bunny in her hand. As Lilly is looking around, she is shocked to see so many people meditating. She then meets a monk, who introduces himself as a Buddhist from the religion of Buddhism and offers to show her around. 

The monk had explained that many people meditate to be able to complete the eight fold path (Smith). Lilly is confused and asks the monk to explain the eight fold path to her. The monk then says that the eight fold path has eight steps to it, and with these steps you can understand what is right and what is wrong, you can also control your own feelings and your actions, and knowing what is right and doing it (Rahula). Lilly was now more inspired to know more about the eight fold path. 

The monk explains the eight paths being, the right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right living, right effort, right mind, and right concentration (Rahula). And from these steps, the monk explained that you experience the world in a different way with more knowledge (Smith). Lilly was very amazed and began to understand how she can look at the world with a different way of thinking. Lilly thanked the monk for being very kind to her and wished him goodbye.

After Lilly had left, she decided to go to the next stop on her list but because she doesn’t really know where she is going, she decided to land wherever she found very beautiful. Lilly got back on her spaceship and flew away where she saw a beautiful pretty garden beside a church. And so, Lilly landed her spaceship and covered it with the invisibility cloak. She was amazed by the field of flowers and started walking through all the pretty flowers. Lilly stopped as she was feeling lonely because she misses her parents and a dove started flying over her head and landed beside her feet in a pile of flowers and started speaking. 

Lilly was startled but listened as the dove asked why she was sad. Lilly explained to the dove how she ran away because her parents wouldn’t let her adventure. The dove was puzzled but said that forgiveness is an important part of human life and that we should make peace with ourselves and others as it allows us to move beyond hurtful situations (“The Connection between Doves and Forgiveness.”). Lilly took in those words and was lost in what she should do and so she asked the beautiful white dove what it meant.

Lilly was stubborn and said that her parents should look at her point of view and decided to adventure even more. She threw the flower that she had picked on the floor and went back to her spaceship where she flew off with no idea where she is going, again. She started crying and so she stopped at a random place to get her thoughts straight. As she got off the spaceship, she kept her pet bunny inside because she wanted to have some privacy and think about the next step that she wants to take. While she was walking, a man approached her and introduced himself as a sheik from Islam.

 As she introduced herself, the sheik asked why she was crying, Lilly explained her situation on how she ran away from her parents because they wouldn’t let her go adventure. Even though she was going to go back and ask for forgiveness, she couldn’t get herself to do so because she wanted to be heard as well. The sheik was puzzled and wondered what she should do in that situation. The sheik then explained that in Islam they cherish their parents and believe that it's ones' duty to show kindness towards ones’ parents (“Duties of Children towards Their Parents in Islam.”). He explained further that even though parents might not be able to do what a person hoped for, it's out of their worries.

What the Sheik said made Lilly look through her parents point of view and made her realize that they said no to her adventures because they care about her and want her to be safe. The sheik added that listening and respecting ones’ parents will bring them happiness and allow them to live a life full of joy (“Duties of Children towards Their Parents in Islam.”).  Lilly was really taken aback by the sheiks strong words and admits that she was wrong for mistreating her parents and decides to go back and ask for her parents forgiveness for real this time. So she wished the sheik goodbye and went on her way to the spaceship.
