My dear friends,

Without a doubt, the scientific progress achieved by the world every day is a source of pride for all of us. With science, our lives have become more comfortable and easier than those who came before us. However, unfortunately, with science as well, our environment, communities, and morals have become more polluted and corrupted than the environment of those who came before us.

That's why the events of this entertaining series revolve around the character of Cupcup, the alien who came from an unknown planet after retiring from his job of guarding the rainbow and protecting it from the damage caused by the increasing scientific progress on our planet.

Through Cupcup's memoirs that he narrates to us, we

will together learn about the most important historical events and social changes that have changed our beloved country Egypt over the past fifty years.

 Now  my friends, I leave you to enjoy Cupcup's first adventures.

Reem, the famous blogger, heard a loud noise and scary voices coming from her room. She rushed out of the kitchen to see what was causing the disturbance. To her surprise, she found a strange creature that would look like a human if it wasn't for his green skin and his rainbow - colored hair.

Reem screamed in fear and said: "Who are you? How did you get in here? Stay away from me! Don't hurt me!"

The creature tried to approach Reem and said: "Don't be afraid, I won't harm you."

Reem backed away and pressed against the wall out of fear, asking, "How did you get in here? Are you a thief?"

The creature replied, "No, I'm not a thief. Don't be afraid."

The creature chuckled and said, "Costume party? What are you talking about? I'm not disguised; this is how I look. And just so you know, I'm one of the top 100 most beautiful beings on my planet."

Reem, surprised, asked, "Your planet? What planet? Are you an alien?"

"Wow, take me to your planet!" she exclaimed.

Cupcup smiled calmly and said: "Uncle. Alien? And leaving the bathroom is not like entering it, ha ha ha."

"Are you related to Youssef?"

 Reem asked: "Who's Youssef?" she inquired.

Cupcup replied: "Youssef is Mariam's brother and a friend of Nagi and Mina."

Reem asked, "Who are they?"

Approaching him and trying to touch his face, she said: You're definitely disguised, and you're playing a trick on me. 

Where's the camera? Where is it?"

Cupcup sighed: "Camera? What camera? And what trick? Am I Ramez? (2) I told you, I'm not disguised; this is how I look, and my name is Cupcup."

"Cupcup? Is that an antibiotic?" Reem joked.

Cupcup: "No, it's a toothpaste, that's my name. I'm Cupcup, the first guardian of the rainbow" 

Reem asked, "Guardian of the rainbow? Is that a job? Why does the rainbow need guarding? Is someone going to steal its colors? Isn't it always seven colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet)?"

Cupcup sighed impatiently: "You talk too much. I told you, I'm Cupcup, the first guardian of the rainbow. I spent fifty years guarding it and keeping it clean from any pollution from Earth. 

Cupcup then collapsed on the floor, crying sadly.

Reem rushed to sit beside him, comforting him:

 "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. Calm down and relax a bit. I'm sure your journey from the rainbow was long."

Cupcup wiped his tears and raised his head, "No, I'm not from the rainbow; I'm from Carbosh."

Reem asked in confusion, "What's Carbosh now?"

Cupcup: My planet, Planet Carbosh. Do you think I live in the rainbow?

Reem: Of course not, I'm aware. Planet Carbosh is very well known.

Cupcup: Known how? Planet Carbosh isn't known on Earth at all.

Reem: Really? Isn't it the one next to Saturn, if you were coming from Mars at the north?

Cupcup: What are you saying?

A few minutes later, Reem returned with a large glass of milk, handing it to Cupcup with a smile and saying:

"I'm Reem... Reem Youssef El Ghazawi, a very famous blogger and I'm breaking the world, I can make you famous and move you somewhere else."

Cupcup: Move me where? I've just got here. And who said I want to be famous or that I want anyone to know I'm here at all? And how you dare break the world? Go fix it immediately, and... Wait, did you say Reem Youssef El Ghazawi? Are you Youssef's daughter?

Reem: yes, he is my dad.

Cupcup: Tell me the truth, are you Youssef's daughter?

Reem: Yes, sir, I'm Youssef El Ghazawi's daughter. Is there something wrong with that?

Cupcup: 

            So, this is Youssef's house in  Heliopolis?

Reem: Yes, we're in Heliopolis, but my dad doesn't live here anymore.

Cupcup dancing around and saying: "So, I didn't land by mistake; this is Youssef's house!"

Then he grabbed Reem's hand to dance with him and said: "And you're Youssef's daughter! Hello my dear friend's daughter."

Reem: Your friend? Does my dad have an alien friend?

Cupcup: Youssef and I have been friends for fifty Earth years.

Reem: Fifty years? Then my dad was just a child.

Cupcup: Yes, I met Youssef in 1974 according to Earth's calendar, and he was ten years old.

Reem: This is huge! You have to tell me everything from the beginning.

Cupcup: I'll tell you everything.

 So, Planet Carbosh means "Land of Colors," and on our planet, we depend on the colors of the rainbow in our lives, similar to how you depend on air for breathing, almost. Also, we mostly communicate through telepathy, like how I'm communicating with you right now, which is why we understand each other without knowing each other's language.

Reem: How is that possible? I don't have telepathic abilities.

Cupcup: All beings in the universe have telepathic abilities and can communicate with each other. But since you've never used them, you don't know they exist. I have the ability to stimulate your mind to exchange information with mine in the process of telepathy.

Reem: Did my dad also talk to you like this?

Cupcup: Of course, Youssef, Mriam, Nagi, and Mina, all of them.

Reem: Aunt Mriam too? Oh, okay. And who are Nagi and Mina?

Cupcup: Youssef's friends.

Reem: Oh, okay, tell me quickly.

Cupcup: It's better if you see for yourself. 

Then he extended his very long fingers and wrapped them around Reem's head, saying: "Close your eyes..."

Suddenly, a glowing ball entered through the window, shining with the seven colors of the rainbow, and stood on the room's floor, quickly transforming into a strange creature. It was Cupcup himself, but it was clear that he was much younger. He looked around the room (which resembled Reem's current room but with decorations and furniture from the seventies), and suddenly his eyes met a pair of scared brown eyes belonging to a little boy, and at the same time the boy and  Cupcup started screaming.

   The room's door opened quickly, Youssef's sister and mother rushed in, asking him, "What's wrong, Youssef? Why are you screaming? Are you okay?"

Youssef: "Help me, Mom, I saw a jinn!"

Youssef's mother: "A jinn? What are you talking about, Youssef? In the name of Allah, are you still a baby."

Youssef: "Believe me, Mom, I saw a colorful jinn enter through the window!"

Mriam, (Youssef's sister) started laughing, "Poor baby Youssef is afraid of the colorful jinn ha ha ha."

Youssef: "stop it, you silly!"

Youssef's mother: "Enough joking, Youssef, I'm busy, come on, tidy your room. Your friends are almost here, did you forget that Mina and Nagi will spend the day with you to read the five adventurers books?!"(4)

Youssef's mother left, but Mriam stayed, laughing, while Youssef looked at her angrily. 

But suddenly, Cupcup appeared in front of them, and Youssef ran to cover Mriam's mouth, who was about to scream. He stood bravely between her and Cupcup saying to him:

 Who are you? "Are you a jinn? Get away from here? Stay away!"

Cupcup: "I'm not a jinn, I'm Cupcup, don't be afraid, I'm not harmful, don't be afraid, Mriam."

Mriam spoke to Youssef, scared: "The jinn knows my name!"

         Youssef

Cupcup: "I told you I'm not a jinn, I'm Cupcup, and I know your name because Youssef called you. I want to know where I am right now. What's the name of your country?"

Youssef: "Egypt, you're in Egypt."

Cupcup: "Egypt? Strange, I had everything calculated before traveling, and I was supposed to land in Paris, the capital of art and beauty in France. How did I end up in Egypt?"

Youssef: "Don't talk to yourself, get away from here and go to France or China."

Cupcup: "Unfortunately, I can't do that now, I have to stay here for at least 48 hours to recharge my energy enough to transfer to a new planet.

 Can I stay with you Baby Youssef?"

Youssef: "Don't call me that, are you making fun of me? 

Cupcup: No, of course not, I heard Mriam calling you that so I thought it's your name.

Youssef: I'm Youssef Al-Ghazawi, and you can't stay here, we don't like jinns."

Cupcup: "I told you I'm not a jinn, I'm Cupcup from Planet Carbosh, and I work as a guardian of the rainbow. I came down to Earth to spend my vacation in Paris, but I ended up here by mistake. Anyway, I'm sorry, I'm leaving now."

Youssef moved quickly to block the door: "Where are you going, Uncle alien?

 Is entering the bathroom like leaving it?

Cupcup: "Didn't you want me to leave?"

Mriam: "No, stay here, Uncle Cupcup, you can stay in my room."

Youssef hurried to leave the room:

 "No, stay here and wait till I bring my friends, but hide, Mriam, take care of him."

Minutes later, Youssef returned to the room with two of his friends, and locked the door, saying loudly: "Appear and show, safe on you!"

He said again louder:

                     "Appear and show, safe on you!"

But nothing happened, so he said: 

                               "Where are you, Cupcup?"

Suddenly, Cupcup appeared among them, causing the kids to jump in fright.

Youssef: Why didn't you appear the first time?

Cupcup: Because I didn't know what "Appear and show, safe on you" meant.

One of the boys approached Cupcup in astonishment and said: "What's this, Youssef? Is it a robot?"

The second boy: "No way, is this possible?" and he addressed Cupcup in English, "Are you a robot?"

Cupcup sighed, annoyed, "No, I'm a jinn."

The two boys moved away in fear, and Youssef laughed, telling them: "Don't be afraid, this is Cupcup. And these, Cupcup, are my friends, Nagi and Mina."

Mina: "What's Cupcup?"

Cupcup: "I'll tell you everything about me in detail."

After the boys heard Cupcup's story and stopped being afraid of him, they remembered something important.

Nagi: "Youssef, we learned something important today you have to know about it."

Youssef: "What is it?"

Mina: "A mystery."

Mriam: "A mystery? Like the five adventurers?"

Nagi: "Yes, exactly."

Youssef: "What mystery!? Is there anything more important than Cupcup right now?"

Mina: "But this is about the country's security and takes priority."

Youssef: "What are you saying? Tell me quickly."

Mina: "Today, Nagi and I were sitting in the garden next to the palace."

Mriam interrupted: "Which palace?"

Nagi: "We're talking about Baron Empain's palace, which he built in Heliopolis, Egypt's new district. He built a luxurious palace in a blend of Indian and European architectural styles, filled with rare artworks and paintings, and it was opened in 1911."

Youssef: "focus, tell us what happened."

Mina: "We were sitting near two foreign men, one was tall and the other was short. 

They were talking quietly in English, probably thinking we wouldn't understand them."

The tall one: "David is putting the finishing touches on it, and it will be ready on time."

The short one: "Wow, I can't believe we might reach the City of Own and take all the treasures in it."

The tall one: "More importantly, the secrets and treasures of knowledge hidden there, through which we can control the world."

Mina: "that's all we heard."

Youssef: "We have to inform the police immediately."

Nagi: "And say what? And who will believe us?"

Mina: while we waste our time trying to convince anyone these thieves will enter the palace and reach Own.

Youssef: These are all myths; there's no secret city under the palace.

Mina: How do we know that? What if this turns out to be true?

Youssef: Allah, weren't you afraid of the palace?

Mriam: But you told me the palace is nothing to fear, that it's an archaeological treasure that we must preserve.

Youssef: Alright, let's think about how we can stop them.

Mriam: Maybe we can wait at the palace, and as soon as we see them approaching, we shout loudly so people gather and the thieves get scared and run away.

Youssef: And how do we enter the palace, genius?

Cupcup: I can help you.

Youssef: You, Cupcup? How?

Cupcup: I can easily transport you from outside the palace to inside in the blink of an eye.

Nagi: Great, but we're still missing something important.

Youssef: Of course, weapons. Let's start preparing.

After a few hours, the friends finished preparing their weapons, made a plan, ate delicious sandwiches, and drank juice.

Cupcup: Let's all hold hands and form a triangle. Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Now open your eyes.

Youssef: "Are we inside the palace?"

Mriam: It's too dark, I can't see any thing

At that moment, the friends turned on their handheld flashlights to start exploring the place.

The friends spread out in the palace, looking around with the light of their batteries, observing the palace and its contents of artifacts, paintings, and furniture, mostly covered in dust and cobwebs but still impressive and magnificent, which calmed their fear despite the darkness, but their astonishment and admiration for the palace were stronger.

Nagi started moving and entered a side hall, then they heard his voice calling them:

 "Come, come! Look quickly!"

They followed Nagi who was standing in front of a luxurious fireplace, above which hung a circular clock with half of it white and the other half black. He was staring in amazement and said to them:

"This clock, the white half is for daytime hours, and the black half for nighttime hours."

Youssef: "Indeed, a masterpiece! But what are these strange symbols in the decoration around the fireplace and this clock?"

Cupcup: "Very strange clock!"
