                 Chapter One

    22 year old David Harrison, with tears in his eyes, waved to his family, as he stepped into a truck. He was at the age where he could do something he had always wanted to do. Be in the military.

    He has always wanted to be in the military, and today was the day he would finally be in his biggest dream. 

    "I'm gonna miss you a lot, guys." David choked out. "I really want to go to the military, but I'll still miss you guys a lot." 

    He buckled in, and the truck drove away. As it did so, David said a little prayer. "Please keep Mary, my wife, happy and safe. Please make Sarah, my precious daughter, stay healthy and happy. And please keep my son, Gregory, stay kind and focused and stand up for himself when getting bullied." 

                                            chapter one

    "UP!" shrieked Evan Willy-the boss of the military-in David's ear. 

    It was the next day, and David could clearly see that Evan hated him. He wished that he was the boss and if he was, he'd fire Evan right away. 

    Evan was mean and cruel to everyone except to his pet rat, Evan Jr., and for some reason, the rat hated Evan and loved David the most. 

    "COME ON, YOU BASTARD, COME ON!" said Evan. 

    "Okay, okay, calm down!" Said David lazily. 

    "WHAT WAS THAT!?!" Screamed Evan. 

    "Nothing." David quickly said. 

    "That's better." Said Evan, with a strong but calm tone. 

    "Now go on to the meeting place where all the other members are meeting up". David walked over to the meeting area, where all of the people in troop 10 were meeting.

                                                  The Military

    "Okay, men, or should I say, HORRIBLE ROOKIES! Hah! rate my joke, Evan Jr. , one squeak is the worst, ten is the best!" said Evan.

    "Squeak!" said the rat once.

    "Squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak! Really? Ten squeaks? Why, thank you!" said Evan. 

    Evan was also really dumb. The rat bit Evan's finger and had a loving look at David. He shrieked. 

    "Th-that means h-h-he likes m-m-me!" Said Evan nervously. 

    He pulled Evan Jr. of his finger and shrieked again.

    "Now gents, we all have some rookies. Micheal Chan and David Harrison, come on up."  

    Okay, so he said me and... Micheal Chan?  thought David. That was strange. 

    "Now lets show these guys what we do, starting with you." Said Evan, pointing at David as he took off his belt.

                                                  chapter one

    Wait what?" Said David. Evan whipped him with his belt as hard as he could. David screamed to the top of his lungs. Finally Evan stopped. David was lying on the floor, in pain.

    "And now it's your turn. COME HERE, YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Said Evan, rushing over to Micheal. When he started whipping him, David couldn't even watch. Finally, when Evan stopped, he said 

    "Now every time you mess up at something, you'll know what'll happen, right, Evan Jr. ?" 

    "Squeak!" said Evan Jr., with a murderous look on his face while looking at Evan, straight in the eyes.

    David knew that He'd get whipped by Evan if he messed up again. Now he worried if he would make it out of the camp alive. After what has happened so far, he wondered if he would make it out alive. 

    "Now, idiots, if you want to make it through the camp alive, YOU'VE GOT TO WORK HARD, BECAUSE YOU MIGHT FEEL THIS!" Evan yelled, punching David in the ribs hard.

    David thought that his ribs were going to snap in half. Now he was on the floor, just lying there, with his hands on his ribs. 

                                                  The Military

Then, he finally stood up, still in pain, surprised that Evan thought the same thing as him. Making it out alive. 

    "Now, if you guys are going to be in the army, guys, then you're going to have to make that pain go away. DO YOU HERE ME!?!" said Evan. When everyone shouted out "YES SIR!" with tone, Micheal and David said "Okay." weakly.

    "LOUDER!" shouted Evan.

    After getting whipped again and saying it louder, Evan kept talking away about... stuff. He was so in pain that he couldn't make out a thing they were saying. Finally, he told everyone to go to their tents. 

    David, in his tent, thought he couldn't make it another day. He missed his family a lot, and he was in pain. But all of that made him tired, and he fell asleep.

                 Chapter two   

    It was a new day. That's right. A new, horrible day. The day started off with Evan screaming "GET UP!" and then "Say it Evan Jr.!" 

    "OW! #### ####!" yelped Evan after getting bit again by Evan Jr. When Evan left, Micheal came, with a really friendly but feel bad kind of look on his face.

    "Are you okay?" he said.

    "Yeah, I'm fine." David said. His ribs felt better than ever, and he was ready to go.

    "So, a new day, another great day for me and Evan Jr., right, cutie?" said Evan. The rat hissed at him, with an ugly look on his face. Then the rat crawled onto David harmlessly. 

                                                  The Military

        "Hey! Get off get off get off!" shrieked David. Evan quickly scooped up Evan Jr. and yelled at David for some reason.

    "HOW DARE YOU HURT MY PRECIOUSNESS!" yelled Evan. David was about to say that it wasn't his fault, but he decided to be quiet and deal with it if he wanted to make it out of camp alive. After getting punched in the stomach, they all went to the workout zone. 

    "DAVID HARRISON!" Evan said. "You're going to the little babyish rookie zone." Except it sounded like a sort of mocking and babyish way, sort of like this; "You're going to fe wittow babyish wookie shone." After trying so hard not to scream and yell, David started doing push-ups, then collapsed to the ground after doing 1.

    "ONLY ONE? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!" screamed Evan. "DO MORE!" David was as weak as an ant. After a while, David finally did 500 push-ups, not counting the fact that he threw up 10 times. And that it took an hour.

                                                  chapter two

    "Better, but next time... DON'T THROW UP 10 ####### TIMES! Right Evan Jr.?" Evan said. Evan Jr. started to get into an attack position, then jumped on Evan, biting and scraping him. It was so funny that David laughed, which was a big mistake.

    " So you think it's funny, eh?" said Evan after he tore off Evan Jr. "WELL HOW ABOUT THIS?!?" Evan punched David in the stomach. David bent down and sat on the floor in pain. He finally got up on his feet, shaking.

    "Time for lunch!" Evan said. "Today we have egg salad, lettuce, cow poop, spoiled tomatoes, and healthy kale. For drinks, we have warm milk that expired three weeks ago." 

    David gagged at the smell of the milk. He ordered lettuce and sat down. Micheal came over. 

    "Hey. My name is Micheal. Your name is David, right?" he said.

    "Yeah. I'm David." said David. David and Micheal soon became friends, and now lunch time was over. 

              Chapter three

     "Micheal and David. Your both going to the rookie zone to do sit-ups." said Evan. 

    "Yesss!" whispered both David and Micheal. They both did 100 sit-ups, and even though David was way stronger than yesterday, it still hurt, of course. They 5-fived each other in celebration. But now they had to go to a meeting. A very, boring, meeting.

    "Okay guys, we have to get in shape, especially you two,  David and Micheal, right Evan Jr.?", said Evan, looking at David, Micheal, and Evan Jr. Evan Jr. was about to lose it. He finally calmed down after a while, wishing he could rip Evan apart.

    David remembered his two friends  - Nicholas Zito & Adriana Romano. He really missed his 2 friends. But there was no time for that. This was the military. After the meeting, it was time for dinner-expired milk, a loaf of bread that spoiled 2 decades ago, & turkey stuffed with dust after being left out for 6 months. David  just didn't eat anything, but that was a regret. David was now starving, but he'd

                                                   chapter Three  

 much rather just not eat the disgusting food. Otherwise, he'd just puke for the rest of the night, hoping to get the taste out of his mouth. So he skipped dinner. After that, he had free time. He didn't know what to do, so he just went to Micheal.

    "Hey, Mike." David said.

    "David!" Micheal said back. They went to the cafeteria to talk.

    "Evan is really letting us have it, right?" said Micheal. 

    "Yeah. He's an idiot. How did he even get the job?" asked David. The two friends talked for a bit more, then went to their tents to get some sleep. David liked to read a lot before sleeping, so he got one of his favorite book- Diary Of the Terrible State, Queeon- and read. The story was about a kid and his best friend, Daniel, who gets kidnapped by Queeon Queen, so the other friend goes to rescue him. David read that book a million times, and he still loves it. He got the book from a yard sale that cost $30. At first he was confused that it cost so much, but after reading a sample of it, he brought it with a

       $20 tip. In fact, he brought it when he was 5, and it's still in perfect condition. He keeps that book clean since it originally cost $150.

    After reading that book again, he didn't know what to do. He didn't want to go to sleep since it was only 9:30 and was still lights out. He goes to bed at 10:30. He decided to go take a walk outside and enjoy the fresh air. But then he came across Evan.

    "David, I need you... INSTANTLY!!!" screamed Evan. David followed Evan to his office for some reason.

    "YOU"RE SUPPOSED TO BE IN YOUR BED AT 9:00!!!" screamed Evan. "WHAT ARE YOU, DEF!?! Even Evan Jr. knows that, am I right?" Evan Jr. just didn't do anything. There were no other ways he could tell Evan that he hated him. Evan just didn't take a hint. And when David tries to say that Evan Jr. hates Evan, he whips David until he can't breathe anymore. Evan just loved his pet rat so much. 

                                    Chapter three

    It's kind of creepy. But of course Evan is the only person in the world that thinks that a sewer rat is the best pet in the universe. Also, Evan probably thought that since he flunked out of school in all of middle and high school. In elementary school, he almost flunked out but instead got D minuses. David, however, got straight A's and was thinking of going to a great collage. Then he got the idea of joining the military. Well, THAT was a dumb decision. 

    “YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN YOUR TENT RIGHT NOW!!!!” streamed Evan.”Now scram!”    

    David quickly went to his bed to get some sleep. He wondered what would happen tomorrow, and if he would like it or not. Finally, David got tired, and so he went to sleep.

    "Okay, fellas, some of you have improved, and some of you are still working on it, but some of you

still suck." said Evan, looking straight at David. They were at the meeting table, except Evan broke the table since he wanted everyone to stand up, even after working out on the machines for ten hours. David was so tired. He didn't even know that he could stand. In fact, he actually accidentally sat down on the floor. But then Evan noticed. He started yelling and screaming at David, then took off his belt and whipped David 50 times, just for accidentally sitting down. 

    After the meeting, it was lunch time. David sat down next to Micheal. They chatted for a little while, had some fun and stuff, but now lunch time was over. It was time for a practice war. David was on the red team. He also called out the commands that Evan ordered through the walkie-talkie that they both had. Then David would yell out the commands, and the red team would move that direction, dodging the land mines.

    "Two o'clock!" Evan said through the walkie-talkie. 

                                               chapter three   

     "TWO O'CLOCK!!!" yelled David loud enough so that the squad heard him. They moved that way.

    "12 o'clock!"Evan said in the walkie-talkie.

    "12 O'CLOCK!" David screamed to the squad. They moved forward. One guy from team red got shot by a fake gun in team blue. Now he was so-called dead in the game. He was supposed to now stay there. David found someone from team blue and shot him. The person from team blue got killed. He stayed there. 

    "Over there! The leader!" someone said. It was a blue squad. The person who shouted the leader was pointing at David. Five trucks came and pointed their guns at the red squad and David. David thought it was over, but then ten red team helicopters came on David's command and shot all the blue people that were seen. The red team was saved by David's commands and the helicopters.

    "NIce wOrkUH!" said Evan in the most fake nice voice you can imagine. On that day, the red team won the battle. David finally had a lot of skill. Evan would have to admit that.

                Chapter four

    David couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about the loud explosions that rattled his mind. He talked to himself about how it was loud and scary.

    "So it scared you, eh?" said a mysterious voice. "What are you, a baby?" David turned around to see who was speaking to him. David wasn't surprised to see Evan standing by his tent. He was holding Evan Jr., which wasn't a good sign. David knew that he should never talk to himself ever again.

    "If you think that that's scary, then just wait until tomorrow. You'll think that those 'rattling' noises are noises that even babies don't get scared of, liKe YoU." said Evan. He said "like you" in a mimicking way. David was outrageous. He couldn't take it anymore. At last, David shouted "SHUUUUUUT UUUUUUP!!! YOU ARE A TOTAL IDIOT AND YOU ALWAYS BOSS ME AROUND!!! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE YOU ####### #####!!!"

                                  chapter four

     Evan Jr. ran away to his house that Evan made for him. Evan was shocked. After he came back to his senses, he took David by the back of the neck, dragged him, found a muddy spot in the campsite, and threw him in the dirty, icky, mud. Then he made David drink it all until he threw up. Finally, he took David from the neck and started choking him.

    "WHO THE #### WERE YOU TALKING TO!?! WAS IT ME, OR WERE YOU TALKING TO YOURSELF!?! TELL ME!!! TELL ME!!!" screamed Evan like a maniac that had a screeching sound like a hawk.

    "I was talking to myself!" said David quietly and quickly because he was choking and scared. 

    "ARE YOU SURE, ####### #####?!?!?" Evan said, throwing David's words back at him. By now the whole military was watching Evan scream at David.

     "Leave him alone." said a mysterious voice that sounded quiet but deadly. The crowd gasped. Then, Micheal appeared from the crowd. Everyone was shocked. They couldn't believe that Micheal, a person who just joined the military, was standing up to a soldier that only had some skill. Everyone was

surprised that Micheal was standing up to David until Evan knocked Micheal out with one swing in the skull. 

    "EVERYONE BACK TO THEIR CAMPSITES! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR A PEEP OUT OF YOU IDIOTS!" Evan screamed, still choking David and kicking unconscious Micheal out of his way. Then he dragged both of them to their campsites and threw David first in his campsite, then Micheal in his, still unconscious for about 5 minutes now. His chest didn't seem to move. But finally, David saw it move a little. David almost cried of joy that Micheal was alive. But then he stopped himself. He was in the middle of the army base with Evan. If Evan heard him, he would think that David was crying because of what Evan did to him. Then the whole thing will start all over again, but without the part of David screaming like a psycho path. So David just shut his mouth. He took out his book, Diary of the Terrible State, Queeon, and started reading it. That calmed him down a little -A LITTLE- but finally, he was able to go to sleep.

                                              Chapter Four

    It's a new day. David just woke up when he heard Micheal groan.  He looked inside his tent - he meant a bloody tent from the gushing cut on Micheal's forehead - and waved hello.

    Micheal groaned hi, then plopped down back into his tent. Must be weak from all the blood rushing out of his head, thought David. He was happy that they were both okay after...last night. David shuddered at that thought. If that happened to him again, then he would just... he didn't know. He didn't like army camp at all. He used to think that army camp was cool. But now he had second thoughts. If he could, he would quit. But Evan never lets anyone quit. He lies to the governor and makes the governor love him. And of course there is no evidence that Evan is forcing everyone to stay in the military until they've been in it for at least 15 years.  That's a lot, right? Not for Evan. In fact, no one survived that long in the military yet. So far, in Evan's camp, no one has survived army camp for

                                                 The Military

15 years. David thought that he made a big mistake when he heard that. He also hoped that there would be no war since it's hard enough already with no war. He wasn't exactly Mr. Peacemaker, but he also didn't like too much war. The kidnapping and the killing. So that's why he joined the army. To be the best warrior and the source to stop the war. But now he realized that he was a flimsy pawn on the chess board who always got captured by the powerful king, Evan. David couldn't stand that thought, so he tried to train a little more. But it didn't pay off. He had to work harder. 

                Chapter five

    "RAT--TAT--TAT--TAT!" That was to wake up all of the soldiers. Everyone woke up to that horrifying thought. 

    "EVERYONE TO THE MAIN LOBBY!!!" Evan screamed. Everyone followed his commands and went to the main lobby. 

    "So, there is a war going on between France. France has asked to join us and we will! WE WILL STOP THIS WAR FOREVER!!!" Evan screamed. 

    "YEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" the crowd shrieked. they were ready, except for two people.

    "A war? A WAR!?!" David shouted.

    "#### ####!" said Micheal.
