In a time not so distant from our own, an Australian Yutyrannus named Camptodon found himself feeling out of place in the vast expanses of the Outback. His striking red and black feathers shimmered in the sun, his large figure casting an imposing shadow over the arid desert sands. While his home was beautiful and full of life, Camptodon had a burning curiosity, a desire to explore lands far beyond his birthplace.
He’d heard of a place called Japan, where ancient traditions met modern marvels, where the food was exquisite, and where the people respected both nature and progress. Camptodon had also learned about an odd yet intriguing practice called mewing—something that involved aligning your tongue in a specific way to improve facial posture. It sounded strange, but fascinating.
"Maybe it's something I should try," he thought. "After all, keeping this jaw strong is part of being a healthy Yutyrannus."
With that, Camptodon embarked on his journey across the seas to Japan. It wasn’t long before he found himself walking through the neon-lit streets of Tokyo, where humans bustled past without giving the massive dinosaur a second glance, as if they’d grown used to all sorts of strange sights.
As he wandered the city, Camptodon felt a presence behind him. It was subtle at first, like a soft shadow darting between the alleys. Curious, he whipped his head around, his golden eyes scanning for any signs of movement.
"Hey! Down here!"
Camptodon lowered his gaze, only to see a small, black cat sitting on its hind legs. The cat wore a leather collar with a striking silver bell, and his bright yellow eyes gleamed with intelligence.
"Who are you?" Camptodon asked, his deep voice rumbling through the street.
"The name’s Morgana," the cat replied, his voice tinged with confidence and mystery. "And you're quite the sight, aren't you?"
Camptodon nodded, trying not to tower too much over the small cat. "I’ve traveled far from Australia to learn about a practice called… mewing?"
Morgana’s eyes lit up. "Mewing, huh? That’s a bit unexpected from a giant like you, but I respect it. It’s all about proper oral posture and breathing—it can make a difference in how you look and feel."
The Yutyrannus tilted his head. "You know about it?"
Morgana grinned. "I may be a cat, but I’m quite familiar with human practices. I’ve even tried it myself—good for keeping my jaw sharp. Come on, I’ll show you."
Intrigued, Camptodon followed Morgana through the winding streets of Tokyo, eventually arriving at a quiet park with blooming cherry blossom trees. Beneath the pale pink petals, Morgana began to demonstrate the technique.
"It’s simple," Morgana said, raising his chin and pressing his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "Just place your tongue like this, close your mouth, and breathe through your nose. Try it."
Camptodon, with his massive snout and sharp teeth, wasn’t sure how a creature of his size could manage such a delicate technique. But he was determined to learn. He closed his large jaw, mimicked Morgana’s posture, and gently pressed his tongue upward.
Morgana watched, his tail flicking back and forth. "Not bad for a first try. Keep practicing. It’ll help with your facial structure, and maybe even help you breathe better."
As Camptodon continued practicing mewing, he found himself growing more relaxed. The rhythmic breathing calmed his mind, and soon the hustle and bustle of Tokyo melted away, leaving only the peaceful sound of the wind rustling through the cherry blossoms.
"Who knew something so simple could feel this good?" Camptodon remarked after a few minutes.
Morgana purred softly. "Told you. Mewing is underrated."
The two unlikely friends, a Yutyrannus from Australia and a clever cat from Japan, spent the rest of the day practicing mewing under the cherry blossoms. They exchanged stories—Camptodon spoke of the vast Outback and its rugged beauty, while Morgana told tales of Tokyo’s hidden secrets and magical places.
As the sun began to set, Camptodon realized that his journey to Japan had been about more than just learning a strange new technique. He had found a companion in Morgana, someone who, despite their differences in size and species, understood the importance of self-improvement and curiosity.

"Thank you, Morgana," Camptodon said, bowing his head in gratitude.
Morgana smiled and flicked his tail. "Anytime. Now that you're a mewing pro, don't forget to practice!"
