On a bright April morning, three little Robin's eggs
hatched in a nest deep in the forest. As Mama Robin
hovered over her babies, she was overjoyed to see
that she had two girls and a boy!

Mama Robin was so excited about her
babies. She exclaimed, "The boy's name
will be Jessie, the first girl will be Maria,
and my little gray one I shall name
Nina!"

Maria and Jessie grew strong and big, fast,
faster than Nina! Nina stayed little. While Mama
Robin was gone getting food for them, Maria
and Jessie practiced flapping their wings. But
Nina could not flap her wings at all!

After Mama Robin cam back, Nina
asked her why she couldn't flap
her wings and her siblings could.
She told her:
"Nina you are
special in your
own little way
and that's
okay!"

While Mama Robin, Jessie, and Maria were out on an
adventure, Nina had to stay in the nest. She was
frustrated that she couldn't fly. She thought about
just jumping and letting instinct kick in, but that
scared her a lot. She decided to practice as hard as
she could until she could flap her wings.

The next day, Jessie, Maria, and Nina
were goofing around, looking off the edge
of the nest. They were taking turns
looking and seeing how far they could go
until they would fall. It was Nina's turn.
She cautiously went over the side of the
nest and looked over. She was
intimidated by how far of a drop it was.
All of a sudden, she actually fell.
Instinctively, she caught herself, mid-air,
and began to fly!!!!

As she sailed along, she was amazed at all the little wonders
the forest had to offer. She dodged a spider web hanging
from a branch, and gazed at how the sun magically came
through the trees.
