I ran up to my room and I grabbed a book and flipped the pages and got my diary out of it. 

I wrote in my diary, ''11/15/24 Dear diary, I really want a new set of chalk because I just broke my last piece and I am sad."    

I went back down stairs. I said to mom, "Could we please go to the art store?!" She said, "Kelly, you know chalk is expensive." But I just broke my last piece of chalk!!! 

Fine, but this is your birthday gift from me. "Okay" I said. 

We went in the car. It was a quick drive. We got out of the car and walked in the art store. We looked for the sign that said chalk. It was right next to the canvases. We tried to look for the one I had before but we couldn't find it.

I found the most beautiful sparkly chalk ever!

I asked mom if I could have it. She said it was too expensive. It was just 30 dollars. Maybe that is expensive. I just realized that she said this would be my birthday present.

I said, "Mom you said this would be my birthday present." "Alright." she said. We bought the chalk. We went home. I drew on the sidewalk with my new chalk right when we got home. I wrote, "Be Happy, You Got This, and You Rock!"

"It's time for dinner!" Mom called out. I put my chalk in the garage and I went in to eat dinner.

I went to bed after dinner.

The whole night I was thinking if I closed the garage. But I think I did.

It was the next morning and it was also show and tell. So I am going to bring my new chalk.

 I got ready and now I will go get my chalk. I went downstairs and into the garage. The garage was open. 

My chalk was not there. What if somebody stole my chalk? I went outside to see if it was out there. I saw chalk writing on the sidewalk. It was not my handwriting. But who's could it be? It was also the sparkly chalk that I got.

I found the chalk on the grass. It was smaller because somebody used it. I put the chalk in my backpack. I was on my way to school when I saw sparkly chalk writing on the sidewalk and it said my name, Kelly. 

I checked my backpack to see if my chalk was in it but it wasn't. It was on the sidewalk. I thought I put the chalk in my backpack. Who keeps using my chalk!!?

I arrived at school. We were learning everything today, like math, geography, spelling, literature, and writing. Then finally it was recess. I found sparkly chalk writing on the sidewalk again! I'm serious; who keeps using my chalk?

I found the chalk in the grass. I took it inside when recess was over. After recess it was show and tell. I was the first person to present. I grabbed my chalk and stood in front of the chalk board.

Then right when I was about to talk my chalk flew right out of my hands and wrote on the chalk wall behind me!! I did not see it do it at first so I thought people were laughing at me. It wrote,"Hello, I am magic chalk and these are my friends." Everybody laughed and Shelly said, "Stop doing that you are making us laugh!"

I said, "I'm not doing it listen to the chalk!" Still I also can't believe that the chalk is real.

After school was over I went home and told mom that we need to return the chalk. She said, "I just bought that new chalk. What's wrong with it?" "Nothing" I said. Because I didn't want to tell her the reason.

"NO." Mom said in a strong voice. "But I really need a different set of chalk," I said. Mom says, "If you don't tell me why, well I guess I won't buy you a new set." I sighed. I guess I had to tell her.

''Welllll," I started to say. "When I first got out of the house I saw the chalk on the sidewalk and it said, "Kelly" my name. And I put the chalk in my backpack for show and tell. Then when I was walking to school I saw more of the sparkly chalk on the sidewalk. It said, "Let me talk." I said in a deep voice.
