Today, my friend Jiann, my cat Mylo, and I were heading to the Taiga! While driving there, I blurted out, "I'll search for facts about the Taiga to prepare us!"
Jiann replied, "Okay, but it's your turn to drive."
I looked up some facts about the Taiga, and Google informed me that "Taiga" comes from the Russian word for forest.
I never realized that the word 'Taiga' was Russian!
Later Mylo purred loudly in my lap, almost as loud as the car's motor. I watched as his little beady eyes closed and he fell asleep. "He is so cute!" I thought to myself. Watching Mylo sleep made me feel sleepy too, and Jiann just kept driving.
We woke up the next morning in the Taiga! I could smell the pine trees and feel the cold wind blowing through my hair.
"Brrrrrr," Jiann shivered.
"It's colder than Neptune over here," I said, shivering as well.
We started walking to find our cabin, but it was nowhere to be found. We searched and searched, our worry growing as Google Maps refused to cooperate, even though Google Chrome was still working. I tried to look things up, hoping for a hint or direction, but I only discovered that the Taiga is the biggest biome in the world!
"Well, that helps," snorted Jiann, clearly frustrated.
"Well, we have no other option than to find it ourselves," I muttered back, trying to keep the panic at bay.
Despite our efforts, we kept searching for the cabin with no luck. We were so lost!
Just when things couldn't get worse, I heard a rustling from the ice behind us. I turned to see a wolf, fur a mix of grays and browns, baring its teeth with a menacing growl.
"Run!" I shouted.
Jiann and I took off, our feet pounding against the cold ground. Mylo leaped from the snow, startled but running alongside us.
"This wolf is faster than a cheetah," yelled Jiaan
The wolf was gaining, and I asked Siri how fast it could run Siri
replied, " Wolves can run up to 36 to 39 mph."
As it closed in on Mylo, I scooped him up. Terrified, I suddenly realized that if the wolf was hungry, it could eat something other than two humans and a cat
