Lily and Max loved to explore! One day, their grandpa said, "Did you know there’s magic hiding in everyday things?" They were curious. "What do you mean?" Max asked.

Grandpa smiled. "Science is like magic, but real! Let me show you." He grabbed a bag of popcorn and put some in the microwave.

POP! POP! POP! The kids watched in amazement. "Why does it do that?" Lily asked.
"There's water inside each kernel," Grandpa said. "When it gets hot, it turns to steam and—BOOM!—it pops!"

Next, Grandpa flipped a switch. "Look at this light bulb! The electricity makes a tiny wire inside glow, lighting up the room."

Max clapped. "So light bulbs work because of tiny glowing wires? That’s so cool!"

Grandpa picked up a magnet and some paper clips. "Watch this!" The clips jumped to the magnet.

Whoa!" Lily gasped. "How does that happen?"

"Magnets have an invisible force that pulls metal things to them," Grandpa explained. "It’s called magnetism."
