Destiny had always been a girl with big dreams. From a young age, she knew she wanted to own her own beauty salon. Growing up in a small town, she spent hours watching online tutorials and practicing on her friends. She couldn't wait to have a job where she made people beautiful all day.

When she graduated high school, she felt unstoppable. She had a plan, a goal, and the work ethic to see it through. But then, she met Jake.

Jake was different from anyone Destiny had ever known. Charismatic and daring, he was a rebel.  It was a trait that was both exciting and dangerous. He had an infectious confidence that drew people in. Destiny, who had spent most of her life being disciplined and goal-oriented, found herself intrigued by him. He was a breath of fresh air, a break from her structured life.

What Destiny didn’t know was that Jake harbored darker pursuits. He was known for tattooing people at his house using unsterile equipment, hanging out with the wrong crowd, and engaging in risky behaviors. But he was also incredibly charming. He made Destiny feel special, as if she was part of something thrilling and exclusive. She began spending more time with him, gradually drifting away from her carefully laid-out plans.

At first, it was just little things—staying out later than she usually would, skipping out on shifts at the work, ignoring the concerned words of her family and friends. But Jake made her feel alive, in a way she had never experienced before.

Then, one evening, everything changed.

Jake introduced her to methamphetamine. It wasn’t how she had ever envisioned herself, but at that moment, she was overwhelmed by the desire to fit in, to be part of his world. The pressure was subtle but powerful. She told herself it was just one time, just to see what it was like. The rush was exhilarating, unlike anything she had ever felt before.

But one time turned into two. Then three. Before she knew it, the drug became a regular escape. Her dreams of owning a salon faded into the background, replaced by a relentless craving for the high. Her job, her passion, and her relationships suffered as she fell deeper into addiction.

Her family watched helplessly as Destiny became someone they no longer recognized. She grew distant, her once-bright eyes now dull and lifeless. The girl who had once been so determined, so full of promise, was slipping away.
