That is a national stadium in Warsaw, built between 2008 and 2011, ahead of the 2012 European Football Championship

And who's that?

These are one of the best Polish ski jumpers in the world - Piotr Żyła and Dawid Kubacki
Who's that?

See you later Pi! We need to go to school!
See you guys!
The kids needed to go to school so they said goodbye to Pi.

Ok The kids are in school now. I'm going to explore on my own!

Excuse me Mr whats that???

Oh, that? That’s the Olympic Stadium in Wrocław! It was built in 1928 and has a cool neo-Renaissance design. It’s used for all kinds of sports—football, speedway, even American football. They renovated it recently, so it still looks great and hosts big events!

Wrocław is nice city, I go for a walk.
Pi was sightseeing in Wrocław and suddenly saw a breathtaking building. The Mathematical Tower of the University of Wrocław, was built between 1728 and 1737. Stands 67 meters tall, making it one of the tallest points in Wrocław. Its design is an example of advanced mathematical principles, including geometry and trigonometry. The tower was built to provide optimal observation angles for astronomical measurements, using precise calculations. On its top, there is a lantern, and in the 19th century, a comet was discovered there. The tower also features a meridian groove, marking the 17° 2′ 0.4936″ line of longitude. Today, it serves as a museum and a popular sightseeing spot.

Pi is still sightseeing Wrocław:
Wow, what's this?

This is Hala Stulecia, with an area of 10,000 m² and a dome 65 meters in diameter, can hold up to 10,000 people. Its history is closely connected with sports. Many sports events have taken place here, including the Volleyball World Championship, European Handball Championship, and European Standard Dance Championship. Some scenes from the movie The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and other films were also filmed here. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Hi, I'm Hubert Hurkacz, a tennis player. I am from Wrocław. Tennis is my passion. Every detail counts on the court - the speed of the serve, the precision of the strike, the angle of the ball's flight. Mathematics is everywhere - from measuring force, through the trajectory of the ball, to match statistics. In tennis, fractions of seconds and millimeters decide about victory. In 2021, I won the tournament in Miami, I also reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon.

Hi, who are you?

I love sports so much I decided to travel in Croatia and explore its famous sports places and athletes.
Here are my adventures!
Pi’s Sports Adventure in Croatia

My first stop was Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb. This is the home of Dinamo Zagreb, one of the best football clubs in Croatia. The stadium is big, with blue seats everywhere. I imagined the fans cheering and waving flags during a big match.

I also learned about Luka Modrić, Croatia’s football hero. He started his career in Dinamo Zagreb before playing for Real Madrid. In 2018, he won the Ballon d’Or, the award for the best football player in the world. That was a proud moment for Croatia!

Next, I visited the Dražen Petrović Basketball Hall. This place is named after Dražen Petrović, a Croatian basketball legend. People call him the “Mozart of Basketball” because of his amazing skills.

Dražen Petrović played in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers and New Jersey Nets. Sadly, he died in a car accident in 1993, but Croatians still love and remember him. Inside the hall, there is a museum with his jerseys, photos, and trophies. It was an emotional visit.

I wanted to see a big indoor arena, so I went to Arena Zagreb. It is a modern building where many sports events happen, like handball, basketball, and concerts.

Handball is very popular in Croatia. The Croatian handball team has won many medals in world championships and the Olympics. I watched a handball match and felt the energy of the fans. It was exciting!

My last stop in Croatia was Umag, a beautiful town by the sea. Every year, Umag hosts the ATP Croatia Open, a famous tennis tournament. I walked around the tennis courts and imagined playing there.

I also learned about Goran Ivanišević, Croatia’s most famous tennis player. In 2001, he won Wimbledon, the biggest tennis tournament in the world. He was the first wild-card player to win! Now, he is a coach for Novak Djokovic, one of the best tennis players today.

Try to guess where I'm traveling now!

Croatia is a great country for sports. I enjoyed visiting these places and learning about Croatian sports stars.
If you love sports, you should come to Croatia too!

DAVID POPOVICI, ROMÂNIA

Let's think where I can go now....

The island of Madeira is known for its Levadas, watercourses that serve to bring water to all parts of the island, and are excellent running trails. This is near our school- Levada da Azenha.

This is simply amazing!!!
