Tropical Rainforest
-Very Warm and Tropical Temperature
-Over 200 cm of rain a year
-Plants have waxy coating

-Tropical Rainforests are located in Chile,New Zealand,United Kingdom,etc.
-Covers 6-7% of the earths surface
-They are important because they control the global patterns of the weather
-Biome that gets the most rain
Trees from the TR-they have thin and smooth bark which prevents from drying out.
Epiphyte-grows on trunks and branches from trees and gets sunlight from the canopy
New World Monkey
Adaptation and Description-has a tail that curls around branches that allow them to hang on trees.

Forest
-experience all seasons
-40-50 cm of rain a year
-plants change colors during seasons
Facts
-Forests are located in the United States,Canada,Europe,China,Japan and Russia
-These "leaf-shedding" forests are split into 5 zones
-The tree stratum zone have trees 60-100 feet tall

Marine Algae-Allows us to breathe

Blue Whale-These are so large that a small person could crawl through their artieries and about 20
could stand on their own tounge

Desert
-extremely hot temperatures
-less than 25 cm of rain a year
-plants have spines to protect from animals

-covers 1/5 of the earth's surface
-there are hot and cold deserts
-In North America there are 5 major hot deserts
-Antarctcia and Greenland are examples of cold deserts
Cacti-their waxy coating can't let water escape (traps water)

-plants are low to ground for warmth

- coldest and driest out of all biomes
-winters are long and summers are short there
-largest biome out of all biomes
-the tundra is close to the North Pole
Lichens,Mosses,and Shrubs-adapt to weather by being short and grouped together to protect
