The Early Childhood Education course has helped me to gain insights into child development, guidance strategies, safety practices, and ethical conduct. These lessons had a great influence on shaping my learning approach towards children at childcare centers. The learning experiences I've had in my classes have improved my awareness of these ideas and enabled me to successfully use them in my placement center with kids.

CHILD CENTERED CURRICULUM- Read-Aloud Strategies
In the activity Language Arts In-Class Workshop, learning how to engage kids with read-aloud activities was one of the most impactful things I took away from my Child-Centered Curriculum course. I've had the chance to put this into practice at my placement center by reading aloud to toddlers while introducing interactive components like questioning and promoting involvement. I've been able to see how various kids react to stories, some are more enthusiastic, while others would rather listen silently, and some others connect it with their experience. For example, while I was showing the image of a dog, a child identified it as their pet and called the name of the pet. The significance of adapting my reading strategies to the unique needs and interests of every child has been emphasized by this insight.
GUIDANCE: Understanding Temperaments
From the course Guidance, I learned about variety of temperaments, such as some are flexible and easygoing, while others while others could require more time to adjust to new circumstances. I saw that certain kids at my placement were more reluctant to participate in group activities. I was able to respect their unique needs by providing them with space and support without pressuring them by applying what I had learned about temperaments. My knowledge of how to create lasting relationships by acknowledging and fostering each child's distinct manner of engaging in the outside world has grown because of this. In the center whenever a child sees a stranger he starts to cry, and I have noticed it many times, but later when the child sees the person for the next time the child becomes okay, and he gets adjusted.
