“Hi, I’m Thabo, and I’m here to help you discover the light inside you...”

"Hey friend… did you know something amazing? God lives right here..." (Thabo gently touches his glowing heart)
"Not in the sky far away—but right inside of me... and inside of you too. When I sit really still, I can feel the glow. It’s like a little whisper saying, ‘You’re never alone.’ Isn’t that cool?"
To the Light That Inspired This Journey
Ever since I began my spiritual awakening journey, I found myself wishing the same for my son, Keabetswe.
I wanted him to experience the magic, the inner peace, and the light I was discovering—but I wasn’t quite sure how to guide him into it gently.
We’d have “light” conversations from time to time, and while he listened with love, I could see the confusion in his eyes.
I knew I needed a better way to speak to his heart.
That’s when I thought—maybe a book could help. Something he could read in his own time, in his own way. He loves reading, after all.
So I began searching for a spiritual book that spoke to children like him—curious, open, but still so new to the language of the inner world.
But I couldn’t find the one.
That’s when the idea came to me: Why don’t I write it myself?
Not just for Keabetswe, but for other parents like me—on this path, wanting to bring their children along in the most gentle, joyful way possible. And so, I Am: The Inner Light was born.
Thank you, my son, for being the spark that lit this beautiful fire. You helped me birth something sacred. This book is for you, and for every child with a light inside them waiting to be seen.
With all my love,
Mom / Selemeng Matsoso
Did you know that you have a beautiful light inside you? This light is full of love, peace, and joy. Some people call it God, some call it the universe, and some call it the inner glow. No matter the name, it lives in your heart and it’s always with you.

Chapter 1
I am The Light Within

Story 1: Thabo and the Night Sky
One evening, Thabo was lying on a blanket outside with his mom. They were watching the stars twinkle above.
“Mama,” he asked, “where is God?”
His mom smiled and touched his chest gently. “Right here,” she said. “Inside you. In your heart.”
Thabo looked up at the stars, then placed his hand over his heart. For a moment, he felt warm and safe. It was like he could hear the stars whispering, “You are never alone.”
That night, Thabo had a dream. In the dream, he was a glowing star flying across the sky. He could hear laughter, music, and a soft voice saying,
“You are light. You are love. You are everything you need.”
Story 2: The Candle Inside
The next day at school, the teacher asked everyone to draw something that made them feel happy. While others drew toys and sweets, Thabo drew a little candle with a glowing flame.
“Why a candle?” his friend asked.
Thabo smiled. “Because it reminds me of the light inside me.”
His teacher saw the drawing and said, “That’s a beautiful thought, Thabo. Your inner light will help you shine wherever you go.”

Activity 1: Star Jar/Box
Find an empty jar or box. Every night, write down one thing that made your inner light shine during the day. Maybe you helped a friend, smiled at someone, or stayed calm when you felt mad.
Decorate your jar and call it your ‘Star Jar’. Soon, it will be filled with moments where your inner light glowed bright!

Activity 2: My Glow Drawing
1. Close your eyes and think about the light inside you.
2. What color is it? Is it soft or bright? Does it move or stay still?
3. Now draw your glow! You can add stars, shapes, or anything that makes it special.
Give your glow a name if you like. What would it be called?
Affirmation
The light of God is inside me. I shine from the inside out. I am never alone.
Thabo Listens to his Heart
(Intuition)
Your inner voice is like a best friend who lives inside your heart. It's quiet, kind, and always wants the best for you. It helps you feel safe, make good choices, and know when something feels just right.
Story 1: Thabo and the Whisper in the Wind
One afternoon, Thabo was playing outside when his friends dared him to climb the tallest tree in the park. He looked up and felt a twist in his tummy.
Chapter 2
“Come on, Thabo!” they shouted. “Don’t be scared!”
Thabo started climbing, but then he heard a soft whisper inside his heart. It didn’t say “Don’t do it!” or “You’re bad.” It just said gently, “This doesn’t feel safe right now.”
He climbed down slowly and sat under the tree. His friends were confused.
But Thabo smiled. He had listened to his glow—the voice inside. And it felt like a hug.
Later, his mom said, “That voice is your inner guide. That’s God’s love talking to you.”
Story 2: Thabo and the Feather
The next day, Thabo sat by the window watching the wind blow through the trees. Suddenly, a soft white feather floated down from the sky and landed right on his windowsill. He picked it up gently and smiled.
He closed his eyes and asked his inner voice, “What does this feather mean?”
A peaceful thought came:
*'You are light. You are guided. You are never alone.'*
Thabo held the feather to his heart. It felt like a little reminder from God—gentle and true.
He placed it in his special jar of treasures to remind himself that his inner glow always speaks to him in quiet ways.
Activity: Meet Your Inner Voice
1. Close your eyes and place your hands on your heart.
2. Ask quietly: “What do you want to tell me today?”
3. Wait… and listen. What did you feel? Was it a word? A feeling? A picture?
4. Now draw or write what your inner voice told you in your journal.
Affirmation:
My inner voice is my guide. It speaks with love, and I trust it every day.

Thabo's whisper:
If your inner voice had a name, what would it be? Draw what it looks like. Is it a glowing star? A kind animal? A quiet rainbow?
Listening to My Feelings
Every feeling you have is like a visitor with a message. Happiness dances, sadness whispers, anger roars, and peace hugs. All your feelings help you understand what’s going on inside your heart. And guess what? God is there too, even when you're crying or confused.
Chapter 3

Story 1: Thabo's Rainy Day
One rainy morning, Thabo felt grumpy. He didn’t know why. He frowned, didn’t want breakfast, and didn’t even say goodbye to his mom.
At school, his teacher asked, “Thabo, what’s the cloud over your head today?”
Thabo shrugged. Then he remembered something his mom said:
“Your feelings are like clouds. They pass, but your sky is always there.”
He took a deep breath. “I’m just feeling stormy,” he whispered.
His teacher smiled. “Stormy days are okay. Talk to your glow. What’s it saying?”
Thabo closed his eyes, and a soft voice inside said,
“It’s okay to feel. I’m here with you.”
By the end of the day, the sun peeked through the clouds in his heart.

Story 2: The Mood Tree
Thabo's class planted a tree in the school garden. The teacher called it the Mood Tree.
Each day, they hung leaves on the tree—green for happy, blue for sad, red for angry, and yellow for calm.
Thabo loved picking a colour each day. One day, he picked blue.
His friend asked, “Why are you blue today?”
Thabo said, “I don’t know yet, but it helps to say it out loud.”
The tree stood tall, holding all the leaves.
Just like Thabo's heart held all his feelings—and his glow kept shining through them.
Activity: Cloud Watch
Lie down and look at the clouds. If you can’t go outside, imagine the clouds in your mind.
Each cloud is a feeling. Watch them come and go.
Which one stays the longest? Which one passes quickly?
Remember: Feelings move like clouds. You are the sky that holds them all.
Affirmation
All my feelings are welcome. I listen to them with love. I am safe to feel.
Chapter 4
The Magic of Thank You (Gratitude)
Abundance isn’t just about having lots of toys or yummy snacks. It’s also about having love in your heart, fun ideas in your head, kindness to share, giggles with friends, and happy moments that make your spirit sparkle. When you stop and say, “Thank you,” for the little things—like a warm hug, a cool breeze, or a silly joke—you start to see how much good stuff is already around you. And guess what?
The more you notice the good, the more your inner glow shines like a star!
Story 1: Thabo's Magic Marble
Thabo once found a small, shiny marble by the river.
He held it in his hand and made a wish, hoping it would bring him lots of toys.
For a few days, nothing happened. But then something strange began.
Each time he said thank you for something, the marble glowed a little.

He said thank you for his mom’s hug, and the marble shimmered.
He said thank you for the warm sun, and it sparkled.
He said thank you for his drawings, and it gleamed.
Thabo realized the magic wasn’t in the marble—it was in him.
He didn’t need more toys to feel rich. He already had everything he needed.
Abundance was all around him, waiting to be seen.

Story 2: The Thank You Garden
At school, Thabo's class made a garden called the Thank You Garden.
Each child planted a seed and whispered something they were grateful for.
Thabo whispered, “Thank you for books and my cozy bed.”
Every day they watered the plants and said one more thank you.
Soon, the garden bloomed with flowers—and so did their hearts.
Thabo learned that saying thank you helps everything grow—including joy inside you.
Activity 1: My Gratitude Jar
2. Every day, write down one thing you’re thankful for on a small piece of paper.
3. Drop it in the jar.
4. At the end of the week, read them all out loud and smile at how full your life is!
Affirmation
I have everything I need. My heart is full. I am already rich with love, joy, and light.
Activity 2: Treasure Hunt of Enough
Look around your home or classroom and find 5 things that make you feel lucky to be you.
It could be your favorite book, your pet, your warm blanket, your drawing pencils, or even your laughter!
Draw them or write them down. These are your treasures of abundance.
Thabo Learns About Love
Chapter 5
Love is not just a feeling you get from hugs or gifts—love is something you are.
It lives inside your heart, your smile, your kind words, and your actions.
When you remember that you are love, it becomes easier to share it with the world.
Story: Thabo and the Invisible Heart Light
Thabo was having a hard day. His best friend didn’t want to play with him, and he felt a little invisible.
When he got home, he asked his mama,
“Mama, why does it feel like no one loves me today?”
She knelt down and smiled.
“Thabo, love doesn’t disappear just because someone’s upset. You carry love with you wherever you go—right here.” She pointed gently to his heart.
That night, Thabo had a dream. He saw his chest glowing with golden light.
Every time he smiled, hugged someone, or helped—even in his dream—the light got brighter.
In the morning, he hugged his mom and said,
“Mama, I saw it! I saw my love-light.
From that day, Thabo tried to show love even when things didn’t go his way.
He realized that love wasn’t just something you get—it’s something you are.
Mini-Story: The Hug That Helped
One day, a new girl at school was crying.
Other kids weren’t sure what to do—but Thabo remembered his dream.
He walked over, smiled, and gave her a gentle hug.
She stopped crying and said,
“Thank you… I feel better now.”
That was the day Thabo learned:
One tiny act of love can light up someone else’s whole day.
Activity 2: The Love Ripple Drawing
Example: “Say something nice to someone.” “Help my sibling with homework.”
“Give my pet a cuddle.” “Think kind thoughts about myself.”
Activity 1: The Mirror of Love
Stand in front of a mirror, look into your eyes, and say:
“I am love.”
“I am lovable.”
“Love is who I am.”
Try it every morning and feel your heart open like a flower
Affirmation
Love is inside me. I carry it everywhere. I give love, and I receive love easily. I am love.
Chapter 6
I Am a Peaceful Light
Peace is like a soft blanket inside your heart. You don’t have to look for it outside—it’s always there, waiting to be remembered. Even when things feel noisy or scary, you can take a deep breath and feel the peace within you.
Story: Thabo and the Cloud of Calm
It was a noisy morning. Thabo's little brother was crying, pots were clanging in the kitchen, and Thabo couldn’t find his socks.
He started to feel upset—his tummy tight, his fists clenched.
“Why does everything feel so loud today?” he asked his grandma.
She sat beside him and said,
“Let’s do something together. Close your eyes and breathe in… then breathe out. Let’s make your body soft like clouds.”
Thabo did it. Slowly. One breath, then another.
And just like magic, the noise didn’t seem so loud anymore.
He imagined a cloud floating in his chest—soft, still, quiet.
That’s when he learned:
Peace isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you become.
Mini-Story: The Peace Pebble
Thabo made a small Peace Pebble with his grandma.
It was just a little stone they found outside, but they painted it with soft colours and drew a tiny heart on it.
Now whenever Thabo felt overwhelmed, he would hold his pebble and remember to breathe.
Activity 1: Create a Peace Pebble
*Find a smooth stone or small object from nature.
*Wash it gently and let it dry.
*Paint it with calm colours like blue, green, or white.
*Add a symbol that makes you feel calm (heart, cloud, star, etc).
*Keep it somewhere special—under your pillow, in your bag, or your pocket.
*Hold it anytime you want to feel peaceful again.
Activity 2: My Calm Bubble
Draw a big bubble. Inside, write or draw all the things that help you feel calm.
*Taking a deep breath
* Listening to soft music
* Hugging a pet or loved one
* Reading a quiet story
* Being alone in nature
* Watching the sky
Decorate your bubble with peaceful colors and shapes.
Affirmation:
Peace lives in me. I can find peace anytime I breathe. I carry calm wherever I go. I am peace.
I Am Connected
Chapter 7
We are all connected—people, animals, plants, oceans, stars.
Even when we feel alone, we’re part of a beautiful,
invisible web of life.
The same light inside you shines in others too.
Everything is linked, You, Me, the stars, the moon, trees, & even feelings in my heart.
Story: Thabo and the Invisible Web
One afternoon, Thabo sat beneath a tall tree and watched the ants marching by.
He saw how they worked together—carrying food, helping one another.
Then a butterfly danced past him, and the wind tickled his face.
Suddenly, he felt something new.
“I’m not just sitting here by myself,” he thought.
“I’m part of all of this.”
That night, he told his mama:
“I think I’m connected to the ants, and the tree, and even the stars.”
She smiled and said,
“You’re absolutely right. Everything is connected. We all belong to the same Great Family.”
