Eli was a bright little boy who loved to laugh and build tall towers with his blocks. But one rainy day, something sad happened—his grandpa, who always called him "Champ," went to heaven.
At first, Eli tried to be strong all by himself.
"I’m fine," he told his mom.
"I’m okay," he told his teacher.
But at night, when the stars blinked above, Eli’s heart felt heavy.
He missed grandpa’s warm hugs and funny stories.
Eli tried to be brave by keeping busy—running faster, building higher towers, laughing louder. But inside, he still felt very small and very alone.
One afternoon, Eli sat alone under the big oak tree in the park. Tears trickled down his cheeks.
"Why do I feel so lost?" he whispered.
A gentle breeze blew, and Eli remembered something Grandpa used to say:
"When you don’t know what to do, talk to God. He’s always listening."
