Egypt is found in North-East Africa. it is traversed by the Nile river from South North, which flows into the Mediterranean sea. Egypt was safeguarded from invaders by the desert which encircled it, it was a safe country for its citizens.

the Nile is whopping 6,650 kilometers long, the longest river on Earth. the Nile was a means of water, food and transport. the river annual flood made Egypt a rich and fertile land.


HOW THE NILE FLLODS HELPED EGYPT
each year, the Nile burst its banks. when the water receded, it deposited a layer of black, fertile mud called silt. the silt perfect for growing crops like wheat and barley

FARMING IN ANCIENT EGYPT
Egyptian grew wheat, barley, vegetable and fruits. they watered their farms every single day of the year with the Nile water. farming was very important because it provided it provided food for everyone.

DAIL LIFE IN ANCIENT EGYPT
Egyptians were scribes, traders, artisans and farmers. families celebrated festival and children played game. they made jewelry, painted pictures and sang songs.

Pyramids were build as tombs for pharaohs. the most famous one is the great pyramid if Gixa. it took about 20 years for numerous workers to build, the pyramids helped the pharaohs to reach the afterlife.

THE MUMMY AND AFTERLIFE
the Egyptians believed in life after death. they preserved their kings and important individuals b mummifying them so that their bodies would not decay. Mummies were covered in linen and buried in tombs

KING TUTANKHAMUN- THE BOY KING
king Tut was a young pharaoh who became popular because his tomb was discovered with treasures. when it was excavated by archaeologists in 1922, it was a big surprise.

WHY KING TUT TOMB WAS NOT ROBBED
Tut tomb was buried deep in the valley of the king. it was difficult for robbers to find and reach. in addition, it was well guarded so most of Tut treasure was intact for thousands of years

THE VALLEY OF KINGS -A ROYAL CEMETERY
The valley of the kings was a royal cemetery for pharaohs and nobles. the valley was build to safeguard to tombs against robbers and to honor the kings.

BUILDING AND DECORATING TOMBS
Workers carved tombs out of solid rock. they decorated the walls with pictures of gods, spells and stories to help the king in the afterlife.
